| 215s | entry season woodcutters Grove I am |
| 219s | joined by a venerated cast of some of |
| 222s | the wonderful jmods that made |
| 223s | woodcutter's Grove possible uh We've Got |
| 226s | Mod Hunter and mod Shogun here joining |
| 229s | us they've logged on and they're ready |
| 231s | for me to ask them some questions and I |
| 233s | hope you get some answers and I'm sure |
| 237s | everyone will though join me in giving |
| 239s | them a very warm woodcutters Grove |
| 241s | welcome and thank them for taking the |

| 253s | no none left I spent so long honestly it |
| 257s | was exhausting the amount of time I was |
| 258s | trying to figure that out uh but Hello |

| 264s | jazzed to have uh an update that is |
| 268s | looking mighty fine I must say so |
| 272s | um I mean let's just let's just get |
| 274s | right into it what what can you tell us |

| 278s | or for rent three and where it's at |

| 282s | going on with the four |

| 288s | we have been uh it's quite dense it's |
| 291s | quite um crowded in the Fortnight right |

| 295s | Astor has fought up ideas and how else |

| 299s | expand the fort make it better |

| 303s | yeah instead of building inside a fort |
| 305s | I'm gonna go outside the fort a bit |
| 308s | we joined nature a bit no |
| 310s | and remember the fire the dead old |
| 313s | wilderness or nice trees |
| 317s | taken out and chop down as well of |
| 319s | course |
| 319s | but yeah so yeah |
| 322s | and then with some nice back-end stuff |
| 324s | as well for wood cutting |
| 327s | has been doing to make it there |
| 330s | a lot nicer future along with some Buffs |
| 333s | too uh hatchets |
| 337s | nice I mean that sounds like an |
| 338s | absolutely brilliant set of changes to |
| 341s | get into |
| 342s | um |
| 343s | first off |
| 345s | um we were going to be joined by the |
| 347s | omnipotent blackwich who is going to |
| 349s | shed some light on some of the design |
| 351s | behind the Grove |
| 353s | um but I've I've communed with with the |
| 355s | powerful black witch and I've got some |
| 357s | spark notes of what like which was gonna |
| 359s | talk about so |
| 361s | um The Grove looks amazing you're going |
| 364s | to see it in a little in a little while |
| 365s | but |
| 367s | there there is a visual distinction |
| 369s | between this area and the rest of the |
| 371s | fort |
| 373s | um it has some |
| 375s | it shows progression obviously you've |
| 377s | upgraded you thought you've upgraded |
| 378s | your kitchen you've upgraded your Chapel |
| 380s | you've done it all I mean you should |
| 382s | have but you can see those areas |
| 384s | progress and this also has that but the |
| 388s | entire Grove environment evolves as you |
| 391s | progress and upgrade it you get access |
| 393s | to more trees and at every tier nature |
| 396s | is kind of healing we're bringing life |
| 398s | back to this otherwise lifeless area and |
| 402s | you go from dead trees and rocks which |
| 404s | you've been you know running through uh |
| 407s | if you're if you're like me you're |
| 408s | running through it surging past all the |
| 410s | skeletons because you get smacked by |
| 412s | them if you're trying to go to |
| 413s | Wilderness events you just run through |
| 415s | the gate and you're like listen hurt me |
| 416s | um but that whole area is starting to to |
| 418s | restore itself and Nature's healing and |
| 420s | we're coming back and it's a lush Grove |
| 422s | with flowers |
| 424s | um so all trees in and around the fort |
| 428s | are now choppable except one which is |
| 432s | the one that Zoe's leaning against |
| 433s | because that would be incredibly rude |
| 436s | um so leave Zoe alone but all the all |
| 438s | the other trees fair game totally go for |
| 441s | it and uh the Lost Grove oak trees are |
| 445s | the ones that you're gonna see so |
| 447s | there's gonna be some visual Clarity |
| 450s | um these style tweaks uh affect the |
| 452s | trees so they fit |
| 454s | and they're mirrored across both so |
| 456s | there'll be some nice visual distinction |
| 458s | and uh no more realistic bark textures |
| 462s | um so should we take a look should we |
| 464s | see what it looks like I'm excited I |
| 465s | want to I want to get involved |
| 470s | there we go here we are there's a lovely |

| 474s | so instead of going through the gates |
| 475s | we're actually gonna go through the side |

| 587s | isn't high enough to do that |

| 595s | that's gonna be yeah it's gonna be my |

| 597s | yeah new wall here now which also means |
| 601s | that when the game launches this area |
| 604s | will not be in a Wilderness anymore so |

| 607s | unwilderness you can't PK people in here |
| 611s | it's been shifted along |
| 614s | to outside the wall now it's beautiful |
| 617s | it also means that pesky Winner's wall |

| 628s | lovely wall once you build the wall |

| 732s | it's simple amazing so you don't so no |
| 735s | more running back and forth just no |

| 764s | as much as you want to build tier two |
| 767s | you're required to build a side gate as |
| 769s | well so you can't really miss out on it |

| 827s | many trees are starting to appear in |
| 829s | yeah major cutable spots at theater as |

| 833s | so you have this uh now Jew trees |

| 838s | she weren't here before |
| 840s | some Willis over there |
| 842s | yeah more trees are pairing in here okay |
| 844s | a nice little diverse cast of twins so |
| 847s | you can get a little selection of all |
| 848s | the essentials and more doing that |
| 851s | little mad dash out of the main gate for |
| 853s | for instance we chopping down that Oak |
| 854s | and then surging back through the main |
| 856s | gate and doing that over and over again |
| 857s | which is all I did my New Foundations |
| 859s | came out that's all I was doing |
| 861s | and for you eagle-eyed ones there's |
| 863s | implants flying about so there's a new |
| 866s | spawn point of airplanes nearby so there |
| 868s | might be lots of implants appearing |
| 870s | around there as well so |
| 877s | and then we have the last here |
| 882s | it's a lovely little house now |
| 885s | which has grown elder tree in the in the |
| 889s | forest as well |
| 892s | along with other various benefits you |
| 893s | get as well but yeah yeah |
| 897s | amazing |
| 900s | so yeah uh |
| 904s | also we're doing oh yeah when Hitler |
| 906s | level uh |
| 908s | growth tier three you get a new reward |
| 914s | the encounter Hatchet oh it looks good |
| 918s | that is looking really good |
| 921s | the best Hatchet in game but 280 at |
| 923s | least so you can only get it once you |
| 926s | hit the tier three in the Grove |
| 929s | so it's definitely something you want to |
| 930s | uh |
| 932s | to work on |
| 934s | now what you can do with all your new |
| 937s | logs then |
| 939s | you got a need of something right |
| 942s | um so we have done some more changes as |
| 945s | well not just your wood cutting but to |
| 947s | Construction in the fort in general |
| 950s | so if you go to a sawmill |
| 953s | it's now a lot more planks in game |
| 957s | so yep |
| 959s | Willow Peak Maple Cadia mahogany you |
| 964s | magic and Elder planks |
| 967s | and they come in the refined variants as |
| 969s | well |
| 971s | and they also come in construction |
| 972s | frames |
| 973s | amazing |
| 977s | now if there's Elder frames uh you need |
| 980s | you need to use them with someone right |
| 982s | and it's been a slight I said slight |
| 985s | rebalance |
| 986s | to uh was required for the buildings in |
| 989s | the fort |
| 992s | oh yeah scrap it |
| 996s | so now the grow cabin will require 4g8 |
| 1001s | mahogany frames for example |
| 1003s | and give |
| 1005s | 112 kxp |
| 1007s | just completing it |
| 1008s | there are some bigger buildings like say |
| 1011s | a town hall tier train |
| 1013s | 18 wood cutting required is 2 and 8K XP |
| 1018s | and requires 60 magic frames |
| 1022s | so it's a bit bit more um |
| 1025s | required to it but a lot more XP being |
| 1028s | rewarded for as well |
| 1029s | huge the most expensive one being the |
| 1032s | command center tier three |
| 1035s | yeah you need 99 construction for that |
| 1037s | one oh yeah and 80 Elder frames which is |
| 1040s | a lot of Elder logs |
| 1043s | that's quite a bit |
| 1045s | yep yep |
| 1047s | I already cut it now and you actually |
| 1049s | cut it with so you'll learn you'll be |
| 1053s | fine |
| 1054s | and then what Hunter can talk more about |
| 1057s | the wood cutting Shades we've done as |
| 1058s | well |
| 1059s | uh yeah so yeah |
| 1062s | cutting in general uh so some of the |
| 1066s | more basic ones is we've just done a |
| 1069s | small retailering on the trees so uh |
| 1071s | like a u tree is |
| 1073s | uh different I think that's level 70 now |
| 1076s | uh yeah they're all in the skill guide |
| 1079s | like every 10 levels rather than every |
| 1081s | 15 levels so there's a tree every |
| 1085s | uh key tier |
| 1088s | these changes aren't in like the levels |
| 1091s | to create things in Fletching or fire |
| 1093s | making that may happen in sort of future |
| 1097s | updates to be like an iterative |
| 1099s | slow Improvement across the game rather |
| 1101s | than trying to you make it a massive |
| 1104s | massive projects that would take years |
| 1105s | and years to convert everything |
| 1108s | uh |
| 1109s | but beyond those sort of levels we've |
| 1111s | mostly been looking at the behind the |
| 1113s | scenes how the skill |
| 1115s | works and how the code is written |
| 1119s | so a lot of the data for woodcutting was |
| 1123s | just in uh what are called enum so it's |
| 1126s | just like a |
| 1128s | this tree gives 25 XP this tree gives 25 |
| 1131s | XP and they're big long lists and every |
| 1135s | time that you want to see everything |
| 1136s | that a single tree does you have to |
| 1139s | search through all of those lists for |
| 1140s | that tree yeah so you swaps that the |
| 1143s | other way around so they're now |
| 1144s | databases instead so a database of One |
| 1147s | Tree lists all of its values uh minor |
| 1151s | change what makes working with the |
| 1152s | system a lot easier those databases are |
| 1156s | then also used for lots of common |
| 1158s | effects of trees like a |
| 1161s | uh taking mahogany trees for example |
| 1164s | have their special logs that you have a |
| 1167s | chance at getting that reserved this |
| 1170s | book plug into the script before and now |
| 1172s | if we want to do that in future |
| 1174s | just add a line on the database and it |
| 1177s | works a lot easier for devs to work with |
| 1179s | basically so behind the scenes stuff |
| 1181s | like that |
| 1182s | lovely yeah that's a lot of qol stuff |
| 1184s | that's just making life easier I guess |
| 1186s | yeah it's kind of making life easier for |
| 1189s | us to make more content as well as uh |
| 1192s | there's the kind of balancing QR quality |
| 1195s | of life sort of stuff going on as well |
| 1197s | yeah so we've addressed the balancing |
| 1200s | across most of the uh wood cutting skill |
| 1205s | as well so in the |
| 1207s | sort of live uh game |
| 1212s | it's not really worth cutting a Magic |
| 1214s | Tree or a utree uh because they're |
| 1216s | really low on the XB rates uh We've |
| 1219s | addressed those across the uh entire |
| 1221s | scale uh looking at these sounds like |
| 1224s | uh yeah |
| 1227s | so I think I think we got a uh we |
| 1231s | managed to pull together some lovely |
| 1233s | visuals I know that this is tantalizing |
| 1235s | gameplay but here's a quick graph that |
| 1239s | shows the comparison of how different |
| 1240s | it's going to be |
| 1242s | with XP that you're getting right now |
| 1244s | versus so blue is what you get right now |
| 1247s | and this uh orange graph shows how much |
| 1250s | you're going to be getting when you get |
| 1253s | your tier 80 Hatchet |

| 1260s | you're gonna need to get your hands on |
| 1262s | the best in slot Hatchet and we're going |
| 1263s | to talk about that in a minute about how |
| 1265s | you get your hands on it but also don't |
| 1268s | worry I can see people in the chat being |
| 1269s | like Oh my god do I have to rebuild my |
| 1272s | fort no but this is just an adjustment |
| 1274s | when this comes out this is going to be |
| 1276s | how |
| 1277s | the construction things are adjusted so |
| 1281s | don't worry right now look at that |
| 1283s | lovely graph those Orange Lines |
| 1285s | absolutely give me so much serotonin |
| 1288s | magic magic and you especially and Elder |
| 1291s | as well |
| 1292s | really really cool |
| 1294s | um so I think basically everything's |
| 1296s | been improved so that's amazing that's |
| 1298s | an amazing change and woodcutters we |
| 1301s | eating good it's great |
| 1303s | yes it's pretty much the live on this |
| 1305s | line uh is also indicating some of the |
| 1309s | Buffs to dragon and Crystal hatchets |
| 1311s | that we've got as well |
| 1313s | uh and for a lot of the car trees the uh |
| 1318s | dragon Hatchet was instead of being a |
| 1320s | tier 60 it was tier 55 and then Crystal |
| 1323s | was an even smaller increment on top of |
| 1325s | that so like a 57.5 instead of 70. uh so |
| 1330s | we've looked at the balancing and you |
| 1332s | know there's no reason that we can't |
| 1334s | actually have these at their properties |
| 1336s | so we now have the actual |
| 1338s | 60 70 and now in condo 80 Hatchet tiers |
| 1342s | uh plugged in so this comparison really |
| 1346s | it applies to lower tier hatchets as |
| 1349s | well uh really yeah the main sort of aim |
| 1354s | that we were going for if this is |
| 1355s | instead of like with the blue lines |
| 1358s | where it's just like |
| 1359s | falling off of a really steep Cliff |
| 1362s | going you don't really want to go to the |
| 1364s | high level trees yeah here |
| 1367s | it's a really shallow slope like |
| 1370s | bringing up the floor of the scale so |
| 1372s | you still get slower XP when you're |
| 1374s | going for your trees that give you the |
| 1376s | more valuable logs but you're getting a |
| 1379s | much better |
| 1380s | XP rate and |
| 1383s | there's a lot more variance in what you |
| 1384s | can and will want to cut so there's a |
| 1387s | lot of exploration to do here in |
| 1390s | where you want to train now |
| 1393s | yeah absolutely uh so I'm I'm really |
| 1396s | excited about this and this is all with |
| 1398s | um |
| 1399s | this is with the the new incando Hatchet |
| 1403s | um and so the way you're going to get |
| 1405s | your hands on that Encanto Hatchet is |
| 1407s | once you've got tier three uh of the |
| 1410s | Grove |
| 1412s | um acquired |
| 1414s | um you'll notice that um |
| 1418s | you'll be getting your hands on |
| 1421s | um bird's nests through woodcutting as |
| 1424s | normal |
| 1425s | um at tier one of the Grove those bird |
| 1428s | nests are automatically placed into your |
| 1429s | backpack no more clicking trying to |
| 1431s | figure them out |
| 1432s | um |
| 1433s | at tier two of The Grow of those bird |
| 1435s | nests are then stored somewhere else |
| 1441s | um |
| 1442s | and then at tier three |
| 1445s | you'll be able to check those bird nests |
| 1447s | and there will be a chance to acquire in |
| 1450s | kando Hatchet pieces from bird's nests |
| 1453s | and then you're gonna have to go and |
| 1454s | talk to |
| 1456s | an old friend |
| 1457s | and get some get some get some bits and |
| 1461s | Bobs together speak to an old friend and |
| 1463s | then once you've done all that the |
| 1465s | hatchet is yours throw it on your tool |
| 1468s | belt with pride |
| 1470s | when you visit the old friend though |
| 1471s | don't forget your red beer pie very |
| 1473s | important yeah if you don't already have |
| 1476s | some red berries just head on out pick |
| 1479s | them up while they're still fresh on the |
| 1481s | vine and get yourself ready |

| 1485s | there's one thing I haven't talked about |

| 1685s | out of oak logs and it it scales up like |

| 1698s | you know laying the foundation look at |
