Perhaps now would be a good time to look at further custimization to the comp cape.

I was thinking certain achievements could unlock different selectable particle trims.

For example MQC would let you choose the light blue trim from mqc.

Reaper crew, ifb, or greap could unlock a black trim.

A base clue log could unlock a red trim.

An achievement score related trim.

Most people with comps are pretty specialized in what they like to do after comp, this would be a nice reward and also potential bis fashion scape.

Hey :)

Rare I'll post on Reddit these days... but this one caught my eye and I triple checked with Mod Jack that it was okay to post some bits and bobs I did in a recent gamejam.

PSA: It's worth noting that this is just me having a play around with things and that this is not on the release schedule at all. This is PURELY something I was clowning around with.

Having done the Master Max capes last year, I really wanted to investigate the tech behind recoloring particles but was a bit bummed to find out that we didn't have the tech to do it on the fly.... + the marmite reaction of the rainbow-esque particles they launched with got me thinking...

I was able to convince a lovely character artist to break the existing particles off the cape to give me a model I was able to work with and that allowed me to create a set of models that use colours pulled from a few of the existing 120 master cape particles (no colours available that would allow you to have a fake trim cape ;) )

Within the Completionist cape customisation screen, I added a section where you can select custom particles for cape presets

Enjoy this gallery of various pictures from my test stream! Would love to hear your thoughts! https://imgur.com/a/44DBMO0

Again, this is is not complete, I'll only get time to work on it during the next gamejam, and this is not on the release schedule... This would need a lot of thought as it's a massive change :)

2) how useful Gamejams are at allowing the team the freedom to experiment and explore ideas like this!

Where TAPP? :(

Worth saying.... TAPP has been massively oversold to players as they only ever saw the final product. A lot of the projects that have been attributed to 'Thursday Afternoon Personal Projects' more or less were chipped away during lunch hours or personal time in the evenings. This isn't great for maintaining a healthy work-life balance (Trust me, I've been there; AoD)

The structure of TAPP also wasn't great as by the time someone had their test world merged with the latest version of the live game world, the afternoon would be over and not much could get done.

However, with Gamejams, we're given a solid week to tools down on core project work and focus solely on whatever the theme for the jam is. This allows the dev or whoever is taking part in it to hit flow state, achieve more, and remember what they where they left off way easier than they'd have been able to do with a Thursday afternoon fortnightly.

It had its perks for sure, but the structure we have now is infinitely better.
