Hey all. We are very happy with the recent increase in positive engagement in /r/runescape. We've seen a lot of great discussion and wonderful interactions with J-Mods. Now, we would like to take this a step further.
Following community consultations, we've decided to expand our rules to introduce Rule 10: No complaints.
RuneScape is an ever-changing MMO. Players often hold radically opposing views on game content and future updates. It's important to draw a line between rants and constructive criticism.
If you have positive feedback or useful game suggestions, you're welcome to post and comment. However, we will no longer accept rants and complaints. Instead of spreading negativity: discuss the game as it is, offer helpful comments and ideas to fellow players and J-Mods, and have fun.
We want everyone in /r/runescape to have a positive experience. This is a subreddit for those who like RuneScape. If you play the game, you clearly enjoy it. Henceforth, complaints will be removed. Express your negativity in a positive way!
Bear in mind that Jagex sources feedback from other social media platforms too. If you're unhappy with RuneScape and feel like making some angry comments in /r/runescape, consider the following alternatives:
- commenting on Facebook and Instagram (you can do so using your real life identity)
- creating a Twitter account and tagging @jagex in your tweets about the absolute state of the game
- posting in the Rants section on the RuneScape Forums (the prime go-to place to focus on the problem rather than the solution)
- joining RuneScape-related Discord servers and complaining in #general channels found there (with sufficient practice and persistence you also can apply for a Rants Initiate role)
- going outside to cool off, breathe some fresh air, and touch grass
- restocking on "it is what it is"
- actually playing and enjoying RuneScape (recommended)
