So after the new update I couldn't wear my quest cape anymore, I see there was an achievement rework and see the regular quest cape has a new req, now you need to complete the general shadow mini quest, I couldn't find any announcement of that, did they sneak that in? What's up with that?

We have a fix ready to release in the next scheduled game update, but it needs a coldfix, so likely can't release 'til Monday.
If you can't wait, I'd suggest completing General's Shadow to get your quest cape back in the meantime. (There's a good quick guide for it on the wiki.)
Whoaaa.... thanks so much for the reply! To be honest I love quests and was kind of excited to do the mini quests anyways so this gives me an excuse to finish them hah Appreciate the heads up tho!

On the upside, completing General's Shadow will get you a step closer to Master Quest Cape.
I heartily recommend going for that, and I hope the more granular subcategories make that goal easier to break down.
I've completed the General's Shadow now, and am still unable to equip my quest cape despite being able to prior to this week's update.
Please try talking to Commander Denulth at the Burthorpe training camp. You may need to complete the reworked version of the Death Plateau quest. (Alternatively both those requirements should get resolved on Monday, assuming all goes well in release candidate testing.)
