Possible Bug: Hand in the sand

I am trying to complete the hand in the sand quest, at the part where I need to create the truth serum by using the rose tinted lens on the counter I am getting the following text. "There see no reason to do that yet, there is no seed on the table."

I believe this is an error message that is supposed to occur during the While guthix sleeps quest but I have not started that quest yet. I have added a picture of my quest log below to show that I am in fact in the middle of hand in the sand
