I’m writing this after doing the new Fort Forinthry quest. After reading his dialogue, it seems like he forgot who we are and what we have done and thinks we are only a simple adventurer.

I think he should acknowledge who we are. Even if we arent the World Guardian anymore, we still did a lot of things that should make him (and his Queen) remember us : - we made a garden for the queen - we saved varrock multiple times (from a demon, a zombie invasion, a tokhaar attack, a vampire army, etc) - we stopped the destruction of the universe (which he should know since he was at Seren’s war council and his troops « helped » with Sentisten) - we stopped Zamorak from destroying Gielenor - And more. (And Im only naming the things that wouldve affected Varrock directly)

I understand Jagex wants to give a « fresh start » for everyone starting their journey with the fort, but there should be dialogues for people who took the time and are interested in the story of Runescape. I think a simple acknowledgement of what we have done would be nice. Or maybe maybe make a miniquest in which we help the apothecary find a cure for the king’s memory problem.

What are your opinions? Have a great day!

This is probably the most common topic we discuss on the lore section of the RS discord. I'm pretty sure I did a livestream about the topic in general as well.

The TLDR is pretty similar to the first half of this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1129gl8/king_roald_seems_to_be_sufferring_from_amnesia/j8j13ym/

I would also highlight this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1129gl8/king_roald_seems_to_be_sufferring_from_amnesia/j8j93zv/ as what I think is the root of the confusion here. The "vast majority" of players are not following along with the story, that's more or less the entire problem we're trying to solve.
