Will archaeology training also involve gaining mining experience?

I have tried looking for answers to this question, but have not been able to find any. This leads me to guess that it will not, but I am somewhat worried as when collecting relics and the like from the ground, you will effectively be mining with your mattock. I could see them deciding to give a mix of the two kinds of experience for that part of training the skill. Did the demo at runefest show any indication for what kinds of experience may be gained? Or have they mentioned this in a livestream I missed?

Thanks in advance for any info people can provide. I am interested in this as I am planning to get an untrimmed archaeology cape on my ironman, but also want to get masterwork for pvm. With archaeology being seemingly indefinitely pushed back, I would like to know if it is safe to mine up close to 99 getting a high smithing level (with boosts to 99 to make the armor) and the ores for masterwork.

Archaeology will not give you Mining XP.

However, you may or may not want/need to do some Mining while training Archaeology for other purposes, so I would suggest you leave a bit of wiggle room if you want an untrimmed Arch cape.
