Any combination of these mechanics is the Normal Mode experience. In Normal Mode, all deaths are safe, so there are no costs or penalties for failure.

Correct - only Hard Mode isn't (though we are running a global Free Death Week for when it launches).
Is this going to be unique to this boss as part of the “teaching people to boss” aspect, or will this be deployed more liberally to other bosses?
Are death costs being fixed by removing them?
Death costs are a much bigger conversation - one we're actively having here often as I'm sure you've gathered from the many opinions shared on our streams!
This is just a decision for this boss right now. We want to do everything we can to make sure this boss is the ultimate on ramp to learning PvM.
