why did i get given 209000 oddments when i logged in

Between October 2019 and March 2020, we had a once-only login check to double a player’s oddments related to an oddments store rebalance. This was readded accidentally today as part of ongoing optimisation work, doubling a player’s oddments if they *didn’t* log in during that 6 month period. That’s now been disabled again.
Uhh, after logging in I got a message saying.
60745 oddments have been added to your currency pouch as part of the Oddments rebalance.
Was this intentional? Nothing in the news post and no one in my clan has gotten this either.

Quick hotfix:
Players who claimed their 5 and/or 10 year veteran cape before mid-2014 will no longer receive a broadcast about claiming the cape for the first time when reclaiming it from Hans.
This should hopefully help some of the spam!

After logging in I received a notification that a large amount of oddments have been added to my currency pouch as part of the "Oddments rebalance"
Can you or someone mention what this rebalance was? I have a ton of oddments now and want to be sure it is okay to use them.
This seems to refer to the oddments rebalance that occured at the beginning of the year. We'll take a look at what causes you to get this message now.
Should I not touch my oddments in the meantime or...?
It is perfectly fine to use your oddments
Hotfix:
The 5 and 10 year Veteran capes now trigger a world broadcast instead of a global all-worlds broadcast. This also means that the 5 and 10 year Veteran cape broadcasts can now be toggled off using the “Broadcasts – World” -> “Milestones – Cape” setting.
The 15 year Veteran cape broadcast remains unchanged as a global broadcast.
