The aim of the event is to find and smash as many pumpkins as you can and this is why the rewards are in the pumpkins not in a communal goal, completing the overall goal rewards some agility experience and is not the main aim of the event.
But ironman do no receive anything from smashing the pumpkins, just that later we can change the pumpking head. That's all?
I believe Irons can get the cosmetics like the Ensouled Head, Ability Overrides etc but if they roll the candies they get H'oddments.
