External link →Hey Jagex it's pretty discouraging that your having private meetings with content creators about MTX but refusing to have open discussions about the rising MTX in this game. Players have been asking for open dialogue for a month now and the leadership hiding isn't doing well for the game.
If Warden was still around we'd be getting lengthy discussions and streams that's something we need right now. The game's burning players. 6 weeks of hero pass surveys isn't going to bring anyone back instead it's going to piss off more players.
You dun goofed Jagex. Consequences will never be the same.
Heyo, to give some context to this. In general we have calls and chats with varieties of groups throughout the months to gather feedback and talk about issues in the community spaces, this is nothing specific to hero pass just something we on the CM team do to help us with our role.
One of these calls is with a group of creators who we have added to a group discord, we have been aiming to have a roughly monthly cadence with these and the most recent one was on the topic of the hero pass.
With the consultation period set to kick off we wanted to continue gathering feedback in the interim as one the intents of the consultation period is to hear from all the different types of players to ensure that we are getting the full picture and not just focusing on one group or another and so we wanted to give the creators a chance to give their feedback and to ask us questions.
We are going to continue having these conversations with the community throughout the consultation period via things like the player panels, surveys etc as we want to include as many voices in this process as possible. This is just one aspect of how we connect with the community across the broad range of spaces we find players in while doing a call with the entirety of r/RuneScape would be chaotic at best, so we want to engage with smaller groups in more direct and conversational ways.
We still engage on Reddit and Discord whenever possible, and we want to continue to do that, it's something that feels important to the identity of RuneScape.
Did anyone else notice they changed the position of the positive/negative answers halfway though? So the negative answers were on top and not the bottom like the previous questions. They made the switch for the question about paid content buffs, too. Wtf lol. That’s shady as hell.
Heyo! Generally surveys like this switch up the organization of answers to check whether the survey taker is paying attention to the topic in front of them and answering accordingly.
/u/Jagex_Fowl 's Halloween event should be on the 23rd. I think it's designed to be permanent like those violet quests. Jagex should begin having hween TH promos around the 16th.
Heyo, Just checking in, where did the idea that it was going to be a permanent quest similar to Violet's come up from?
I don't believe we have said anything of this nature about the Halloween event and I wanna temper any common expectations coming up to this event.
‘Daily Challenges will work just as they used to – including Keys, Lamps and Streak rewards.’
Does this mean challenges will give lamps instead of the instantaneous XP? I wouldn’t mind getting lamps like how daily missions work currently.
Edit: To choose XP in a skill for a lamp
I believe the intent is that Daily Challenges return essentially how they were prior to the change.
You don’t have much of voice when your only option is a survey where you pick the predetermined black and white answers. You are basically creating a tier system on who’s voice is more important. While regular players only get to answer a multiple choice answer to a question, you are giving so called content creators (I wouldn’t call reading patch notes as creators) an ability to articulate their opinion and offer solutions.
Shame.
The survey, the calls with different groups of players, the player panels, the discussions on Reddit/Discord/Twitter etc are all avenues to gather player feedback and opinions.
No one avenue is the most important we are just actively reaching out across multiple to be sure we are engaging different voices into the conversation.
Does that include DM's sent to the CM's via Reddit?
Personally I prefer discord dms, never got into a great flow with Reddit messages but if you wanna pass things along via message I am happy to include your feedback.
