External link →Will the new LOTD upgrade work with the relic one or do we need to get a new one again?
The reward is an enchant (using the same system as the ones that can be gained from ED4). The enchant when consumed will power up all LOTD rings, the relic and HSR rings (as HSR was viewed as a direct upgrade to LOTD). The relic, however, will not give you access to the new teleport.
A Dark Onyx Core will drop from special encounters.
When it comes to special encounters, it can come from special skilling and combat ones right?
Bit iffy about spawns appearing at certain set times but give it a go on update day and see how it all works.
The three special encounters are the Evil Bloodwood Tree, the Infernal Star and the KBD Rampage. The tree is pure skilling, the KBD is pure combat and the Star is a mix of the two. All three of these give you drop chances on the Dark Onyx Core in the form of a Very wild sack of rewards (open it and some loot plops out!).
Does the KBD spawn have increased HP? Hate to see it spawn and it's already dead before players have a chance to get to it because someone's already one shot it.
All the combat events, KBD included, use scaling health based on the amount of players participating in the event (Similar to how clawdia works during the beach). Hopefully this will keep the events as a challenge no matter how many people engage.
Can we get the buff to work on the hsr too please? Useful tele to hazelmere... and i dont wanna have to go buy a lotd that ima use no where else.
The enchant will also upgrade HSR and the LOTD relic (although the relic won't have access to the extra teleport).
Are these updates and rewards Ironman friendly?
Ironmen can participate in the events and gain rewards like a standard player.
Are these events temporary or permanent content? Also, any chance to bring back those five notes from the Zamorak's demon invasion?
The events will only appear at certain times (according to the schedule we added to the newspost), but that schedule should run indefinitely from now on - they are not being removed like the demon invasions were.
We haven't added those notes back into the game with this update.
Will the events require to be opted in for pvp?
No you won't need to opt in to pvp, and as they are group events I would advise you don't do these with pvp on.
Are these mechanically the same? Like is it just evil tree in the wildy?
They are mechanically similar with some curve balls thrown in. For example, in the middle of your infernal star is a band of pyrefiends rather than a friendly sprite.
Could this be added to the news post so it is given more visibility? I feel like even in this thread there a a lot of confusion about this.
Will be looking into updating the newspost or including this in the Monday newspost info
When I put on my HSR with the enchantment, are all 5 teleports on the right-click in worn equipment screen?
Had to double check this one (I made these rewards near the start of the project), but, yeah that all seems to be hooked up and working with a worn op.
To create the new enchants do you just need the items. Or do you need to combine them with something else?
You will require some items and some invention components, similar to how the other enchants introduced in ED4 work.
The xp needs to be reworked, having it be only worth for the person that wins the encounter when the entire point is that it’s a group activity doesn’t make sense. Imagine if wilderness war bands only gave big xp loot to the person that contributed most towards destroying the camp?
Everyone gets the same XP if the encounter is won and they contribute a threshold amount to the win. There is no one single winner of an event, it is intended to be a group effort.
Brawling gloves are so rare and niche that it feels like a waste to use a slot on the puzzle box for them. I can't imagine anyone getting excited for that
Brawling gloves are on the droptable for the new special events (Bloodwood Tree, Infernal Star and KBD Rampage), so you might find a few more of them if you are participating.
Will the drops from the King Black Dragon event also count fro the drop log?
Will it also award the really rare kits? They werent mentioned in the possible list of drops.
The drops from the special events that are on the KBD drop log will be counted for the KBD drop log.
The rare kits are not on the drop table, I didn't want to absorb all the uniques from the standard KBD fight.
Great, thank you! I wasn't sure if the engine supports this many ops on a worn item, but it seems this was updated some time back.
Looks like we support up to 8 worn ops at the moment, although I can only see 3 items that use that many.
Are the enchantments applied directly to the character like previous ones were? IE if I have multiple passages/graces will one enchantment apply the infinite charge/porter buff to all of them?
Yep, they are applied to the character.
From the looks of it as the events cycle they'll slowly shift their times
This is correct and intentional.
Infernal Puzzle Box (tier 3)
Wilderness Refresh - Adrenaline will not drain outside of combat.
Civil War I unlock
Players who have already unlocked this will not lose access to it.Does that mean completing the first mini-quest will be an additional requirement to killing 144 demons ("Gross Misconduct" achievement), or will it replace this current requirement completely?
If you already have it unlocked you'll keep it. The miniquest is a narrative wrapper around the same achievement, so it isn't really changing. You'll need to complete miniquest 1 to unlock miniquest 2, but if you already have the achievement all you need to do to complete it is talk to an NPC.
They are mechanically similar with some curve balls thrown in. For example, in the middle of your infernal star is a band of pyrefiends rather than a friendly sprite.
they killed the sprite 😭
I assume the ring has to be equipped to have the effects proc if we don't use the relic?
yes :)
