38s the start of stream and then when I get
40s into the Showcase which involves the our
42s team and then we'll get the audio team
45s on we'll go through that and then we'll
47s get more timber down here we'll talk
49s about weapon diversity number two ie the
52s stuff that we didn't do in the first
53s weapon diversity beater update and then
55s doing it then and then going through the
57s bank placeholders and improvements
59s update in its entirety so some of the
62s stuff you may have seen already but uh
64s we'll go for it all just so you can see
66s what's coming up so it's all very very
68s exciting and yes meme society is
72s actually my actual 25th birthday today
74s so you know in the scope of the meet so
79s I you know it's it's we're doing extreme
81s on my birthday as well but like my
83s literal birthday but you know it's nice

376s weeks back we hosted a showcase and it

382s he'll back because of course we're
384s keeping everything a bit of a surprise
385s we want to go through some stuff and all
387s of it now it's out there we can kind of
390s go through everything so exactly a lot a
393s lot of stuff to show today here we got
396s the scale model discussions be here
398s yeah probably there gonna be many more

405s course at first yeah we didn't have any
407s kind of characters in-game so we had to
410s just replace everything inside with some
414s stickman so first of all I'd like to
420s talk about the environment Koko's we
425s didn't have many informations about the
427s dinosaur at first so we had some
432s limitations were we wanted to find new
437s solutions basically inside those
439s limitations and we we knew there was a
444s volcano okay so cool for screen if you
447s can't okay so this was one of the first
451s artworks created right and you already
454s seen this so we know there was a volcano
458s we knew there were some rooms in the
462s middle of the of the island and we we
467s needed a landing spot that's it that was
470s that was it so at first I started
476s thinking about the different locations
480s of these spots so well I have it there
487s yeah so at first I did some kind of
491s explorations very quickly in 3d just
498s because it's very happy how did you make
501s this like I just like mock this up just
504s like that
504s yeah but very quickly Maya just you've
506s just made this in Maya just like that
508s yeah yeah
509s super super rough idea it's easier in
512s this way to
514s discuss with the with the designers know
519s about the different locations because we
522s already had an idea about the different
524s biomes but not exactly where to position
527s them so we started creating a very rough
533s idea of the map some people said it
534s looks like a map from Spiro actually in
538s yeah well at first well I tend to you
544s know go a little bit extreme
546s at first it's easier and a different
550s stage to tone down everything but at
553s first I went crazy so okay yeah there
558s was some kind of maps yeah so basically
565s in the center there was the camp but at
570s first there was this kind of like in the
572s widow and volcano here and the swamp and
579s we didn't know exactly that the landing
582s but maybe could be here or come here I
586s don't know in that moment everything was
589s possible so we started developing the
594s different biomes like you've seen and
598s trying to define what was in there like
602s no skeletons or geysers or I don't know
611s and so yeah just a quick some plants
619s made by let's call that mod nice yeah
629s and then what does that say so what's
633s the part to say let's pick some flowers
635s yeah and and then other plants because
645s well it was easier at first
647s focusing on this stuff and when we
650s gather the first informations about the
652s dinosaurs we moved to to that part but
656s first well we worked for example yeah

663s yeah this was another iteration of the
666s island it's very similar to what we have
669s so the beach what island yes with the
671s different areas were we knew we wanted
675s something particularly yeah but it's
681s completely it's that's the scale that
685s further yeah but overall the day the
688s locations of the biomes were were clear
691s so yeah sorry I let it play out
697s it's all good oh yes scale just in that
702s anyway
702s yeah overall it's very similar to what
705s we have in game um so let's move on

712s yeah first so about the characters you
719s know that was Laniakea this was really
722s definite exactly the snake holy hell
725s Wow okay that's awesome and it was
731s another iteration over with the
734s different ideas about there trying to
739s yeah the snake was a be a big thing at
742s first but it caused many problems and so
747s you might be asking more problems and
750s well first of all the the animations
754s because yeah it was a pet but it also
757s had to interact with her and I don't
762s know there were many problems also
765s relative to the lore in some ways and so
768s yeah so stretched basically and and then
774s some of the villagers in the
778s camp it's it's so hot in here how very

842s basically a mix between what's called am
848s Carrick's Carrick's in zelda Couric's
853s and kodamas princess mononoke
856s and yeah they were super cute they they
860s were in the in this set in the center of
863s the island basically where the
866s difference a shrine visit me and yeah
869s they were super cute so when we looked
871s at the hunter master he was obviously
873s quite different versus arrow in so knew
875s we had so yeah why Webster had changed
877s so much from yeah yeah this is obviously
881s quite a drastic difference I mean these
882s different versions of what would be
883s considered hunts Tomas yeah does it we
885s decide for because first of all it has
889s to stand out completely from the
893s environments and the the last iteration
897s is really it's really different from the
902s other NPCs that you encounter so it has
907s to be unique
909s so yeah we thought that it was necessary
912s that kind of direction then okay

924s edited the news post for the player and
926s farm stuff I think I've put the link

931s specifics we're looking to do with the
932s upcoming play around farm changes so

947s the dinosaurs we also thought about the
951s mechanics in the game because what we
953s had some ideas from the designers of
955s course but sometimes we try to provide
960s cool solutions for them we try and so
964s there are there were some cool ideas for
967s example from from Bosnia and these were
972s amazing how to lure the different
979s dinosaurs or trying to release poison
981s mice yeah hopefully get even more random
984s moving bait targets the quality in this
987s yeah is super creative and yeah I came
991s up with some crazy ideas yeah it was
995s crazy yeah but sometimes you know we we
997s encounter you know the usual
1000s difficulties of the production so
1003s sometimes they're cool but you have to
1006s think about that they have to be
1007s repeated in different areas of the of
1010s the island so you need to create
1014s something that could feel unique but
1017s also a little bit generic kinds of ways
1019s so if they are too unique
1022s yeah they are a problem so they could be
1025s useful for other ideas in the future of
1028s course but yeah overall it was yeah
1032s that's crazy
1033s well we try to go crazy versus always
1036s trying to crazy that's that's I don't
1038s yeah like for for example for the
1041s the agility course I tried to sell some
1045s ideas how to just connect the different
1048s areas like using steam geysers or the
1054s lava geyser like this or you know you
1056s just try to grow some vines and you just
1061s climb on top of them know many things
1066s this is usually dry yeah yeah we try it
1069s first of all yeah then I see oh yeah
1074s some oh wow the designs ok the metal
1077s charms of the amazing yeah lovely good
1080s see scale man's back yet again yep
1082s and Dan yeah that's all okay
1089s so cool let's move to dinosaurs yeah
1094s banished dinosaurs yeah you have first
1098s so what were the requirements at first
1103s so there had to be colorful and had to
1106s blend with the with environment okay you
1110s know very cool way so at first of course
1115s I try to sell a very extreme idea and
1119s that was yeah so I try to sell this kind
1125s of idea so where they just land with
1129s plants and flowers and fruits and
1132s anything full screen that let's let's
1134s have a little ample screen so yeah there
1139s were maybe two crazy because well I have
1142s a bunch of them Wow and he rocked us
1148s directors here at well I'm very bad with
1154s names you also people yeah there was a
1164s thing but yeah I know my are
1168s now by really believable yeah yeah
1172s basically they do if they hit each other
1176s they explode ching chong put on it oh
1181s yeah basically yeah yeah yeah exactly
1183s and so yeah I had a lot of fun but they
1188s were a little bit too extreme at first
1190s so they told me there had to be more
1195s like so they tried to sell me the idea
1200s of kind of a creature an experience from
1205s Dragon Kings right so at first I tried
1210s to use the the previous ones and try to
1214s create a different design based on them
1217s so for example these ones were a little
1220s bit more like normal dinosaurs but a
1223s little bit dragonish okay so that was
1228s just for the shapes and some still crazy
1232s ideas but yeah more toned down and after
1238s that I what they told me that they
1243s wanted something more like normal
1244s dinosaurs okay so I thought there's no
1246s more times yeah exactly so in my mind no
1249s matter horse means feathers because
1251s nowadays we know they probably had
1254s feathers so I took a not no wait not
1259s this is another one this one okay so I
1264s tried I don't know a t-rex with feathers
1267s or turtle with feathers and another
1272s completely a complete different
1273s direction um and and then with this kind
1281s of elements k we stopped a little bit
1283s and we focus on something else we saw
1286s before more being on you know the new
1288s iterations of the dinosaurs like GG to
1291s talk about the
1294s the cutscenes because at first okay we
1296s didn't know exactly the kind of
1299s creatures that we had exactly did the
1302s environment that we had but overall we
1304s know we knew that there was a an
1307s approach to the island the landing and
1309s the in the center there was the rooms
1313s okay
1313s let you discover so yeah I worked on
1318s very quick story board of the the first
1322s landing that didn't make it in the end
1324s but you know it was a an iteration so so
1329s this is when so if we look at this yeah

1340s part so at first we didn't know if you
1345s were using the barge or whatever so that
1348s was the first approach to the island

1389s beach after the beach if it hasn't
1391s changed really the beach is still kind
1393s of exactly yeah it's very similar
1395s yeah but overall everything is very
1398s useful to for the overall result at the
1401s end sometimes you know you just paint a
1404s little thing a little detail okay in the
1406s corner and that little either it becomes
1408s a no big thing at the end so everything
1412s is yeah then then you reach these this
1418s part here and there's the part too that
1421s was part two yeah the movie continues

1638s so we came up with so can we go back to
1642s the selection first so that we got one

1653s me looks absolutely yeah this one did
1655s the tank yeah also I mean they look
1658s awesome but to me the bottom right one

1728s variants that's awesome and what tell us

1750s images they just at the bottom right

1762s the game they give an idea so if you
1766s just color a dinosaur completely purple
1771s and as you know maybe some green inside
1774s probably they are venomous okay so we
1779s don't want to give that idea or it has
1782s to be very specific okay just a request
1786s by the designers but not for us and so
1790s so yes these are some of the ideas oh

2047s to discuss a lot with the designers with
2051s the developers how to make kids and when

2163s some first iterations of the hunter

2174s incredible I mean they look incredible
2176s again I don't know the gliding crawlers
2179s ones just look pretty incredible sick I

3308s can vary depending on whether we've got
3310s some good sources to use or whether

3316s sounds but and how many animations and
3318s interactions there is and then again a
3320s different kind of creatures in the game
3324s and stuff you want more than one sound
3325s because you hit it if you hit a creature
3328s with you sort of whatever you don't just
3329s want to making the same once and then I
3331s can take time yeah you got you don't
3332s want to commit lee is tired really you
3334s want to come over sorry but fresh and

3575s I was playing big-game hunter and I had
3576s D I had a triple darkness one and then I
3578s had the same time tracker here where
3580s obviously it's not build from yendo of
3583s it but it kind of has that more
3585s intensity when I'm still there's more
3586s dinosaurs to it because the music really
3588s starts to play a bit and it's really
3590s sounds going off as well and again that
3593s the sounds are all because we because
3595s you're in a kind of a 3d world if you
3596s like if something's to the left of you
3598s if you got your speaker's buckle in
3599s there
3600s all the headphones and remember you'll
3602s hear the sound coming out of your left
3604s the air and stuff like that so when
3605s you've got three of these things all
3607s kind of walking around you gets a pitch

3719s sound effects for this piece this piece
3721s content because normally like mod some
3725s is demonstrated there when we get the
3727s animation tool we put all the sounds in
3728s we synchronize everything up but we
3730s couldn't really do that very well
3731s because the dinosaurs were actually out
3733s of range for the cutscenes of when
3735s they're dying yeah we had to fake it if
3737s you like and we had to kind of code that
3738s stuff in separately so that and then the
3742s timings all had to be kind of like
3743s outside to sort of make sure that we can
3745s match them as best as we could because
3747s it was completely detached so when the
3749s game knows it's to fire the spears you
3751s then add the sound in manually yeah yeah
3754s because we do do quite a lot of so you
3756s know kind of coding in the game as well
3757s with it with the sounds and music it's
3759s not just a case of sort of giving an
3761s audio fighters or chucking a developer
3763s here you know we do we do you know a lot
3766s of the integration that's like another
3767s side of the job which I guess not
3769s everyone always see it's like you know
3771s you you you you create the sound so make
3773s the music and you implement the sound
3775s into the game is the technical kind of
3777s returns but it's just as creative you
3780s know because you have to be yet a
3781s free-thinking
3781s you didn't create any how you let the
3783s sounds into the interviews into the game
3785s ready I mean again I mean I just love
3788s the chase music for me there's something
3790s about it where it just has that slow
3792s build up and it just gets very intense
3793s and then a minute or so it cools down
3796s and then restart again that build-up and
3799s then I just love it when I when I
3800s started off doing the the meat and the
3803s music for this piece of content I kind
3805s of had this huge sort of session with
3806s with lots of bits of sort of tunes in it
3809s and the whole thing was written a little
3811s bit like a kind of medley so all this on
3813s a shared this huge sort of Bank of
3814s instruments orchestral instruments as as
3817s well as some unusual ones and stuff like
3818s that but then I would kind of cut bits
3820s out and you know glue that bit over
3822s there and move that
3823s over there and stuff it yeah so let's
3825s get me hopefully there's some sort
3826s consistency so everything and absolutely
3829s it is a very good starting point as well
3830s looks like you know yeah you know I
3832s would listen to an FBI I can see where
3834s Molly in T is going with this maybe I
3835s can do something like that or I can use
3837s a similar path or go down a cinematic
3839s similar Avenue you know and that you
3842s know it's a we've got some other
3843s examples of of sounds for the terrace or
3849s because there you just you've just heard
3851s the the big guy the t-rex up just a few
3857s sound effects here too so demo to show
3858s that this is just audio no video this
3861s isn't cut now unfortunately I forego I
3862s just thought I'd just first sort of
3865s something to do so if you want to just
3866s kind of play through a couple of those
3868s which one thirsty thinking it's less of
3870s a lot water we got there like so start

3881s sound it's got a very kind of undulating
3882s kind of like quality to it in fact you
3886s know the creature itself does actually
3887s move its its beak and stuff like that

4016s sounds like someone's talking as listen

4037s it's kind of all sped up and and twisted

4050s with kind of like super technical stuff

4053s reference a ring modulator is the same
4055s kind of process that was used for the
4057s famous Daleks right a Dalek that's right
