Happy Birthday RuneScape!
Today is just the start of everything RS20 - this will be a month-long event to kick start a year long celebration, both in and out of the game. Lots to celebrate with this much history!
A bunch of us here will be hopping online at 5pm Game Time on World 1 and World 16 to mark RuneScape's 20th Anniversary and make it one to remember. We hope you'll join us!
Normally the anniversary capes are tied to your account creation date. Is there a reason why this was changed?
It's a cape for RuneScape's 20th Anniversary rather than a 20 Year Vet Cape. Think of it as an 'I was there!' memento.
Veteran Capes track from Feb 2002 when account creation details started being logged, so there won't be any 20 Year Vet Capes happening this year.
One more year until Runescape can buy a beer in the US!
We'll be raising a glass on that day! 🍻 (although to be honest, we've been able to do that in the UK for a couple of years now and have had a few Asgarnian Ales already).
This is great and all but what do poor Intel users like me do who can't keep the client from crashing every 15 mins?
We're working on getting this resolved - we're currently gathering any reports and information for the team to assist in an investigation. Thanks ever so much for your patience while we look into this.
"Something fun is about to happen in the Grand Party celebration at lumbridge crater in the next 5 minutes"
Is it just a 10% xp boost? Just wondering if there's anything else.
Thanks for those who mentioned this - we've hotfixed that announcement out just now since it was inaccurate. The 10% XP Boost is on all the time in the Crater.
if it helps you, the laptop I'm playing runescape on at the moment has the following specs:
Model: Acer Aspire A315-56
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1, 8 threads 1GHz
Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620
Memory: 8GB RAM
Sometimes while I'm playing, the client will freeze altogether for a couple seconds, and afterwards the background will continue playing while the screen is frozen. At this point i would exit out of the client and then relog again, only to be greeted by a flickering interface, which I've found occurs more frequently based on how much activity is going on in the client. I've encountered this issue on both the standard and steam clients too.
This does help thank you! We might reach out to ask for some more information soon to help our investigation, if you're interested in helping.
