9s this off I think it's pretty hype I
12s think it's safe to say the guys are in
15s very excited so I'm gonna bring in their
16s on the couch you won't be able to see
17s them but they'll be able to chat so
19s you'll hear them as kind of disembodied
20s voices so to speak hello it's gonna be
29s one of those so I'll bring it on the
33s couch we have mod raven ahmad orion on
36s the couch how is how is that guy see you
38s heiped it's gonna be replated for a
49s little while I've got to work on that
50s sneaking skill someone's out there in
51s the chat okay so we have obviously a lot
59s of people here involved in the process
61s and creation from start to finish we're
63s gonna kick this off in the same format
65s as violators blue so when they'll be
66s covering the different departments who
68s cover for example concept environment
71s down to characters animation and audio
73s we have a concept section to kick us off
76s however unfortunately come to that a
78s concept person of people's in this case

85s we're gonna kind of just talk about what
87s we're seeing here and hopefully Orion

89s with some of the stuff but initially of
91s course this was the pitch concept right
93s for the shadow Rufus a correct as their
106s mics on guys their mics on this is the
113s right model right yes okay so the shadow
122s reef is divided into three very succinct
125s environment areas which we'll be talking
127s about later on but this is the initial
132s concept for the first
133s we call the coral area cool all right
138s sold on to the next one oh man what we
140s got here then this well this is the sort
145s of second and third area really it's not
147s quite identical to what you wore it
150s became that this is the this is olfin
154s Korea itself which is the sort of ruins
156s underneath all the water that everything
158s is you sort of tip of it and pieces of
161s hate and this is kind of everything else
163s that goes down into this sort of further
164s sort of abyss area yeah we've called it
169s the abyssal depths because the abyss is
171s well kind of integral to rescale off so
175s we can't really use that name but yeah
178s as you can often assume the concept art
181s almost looks altra high fantasy and is
184s almost impossible to fully replicate in
187s in runescape itself but you'll notice
191s we've tried to emulate the the downwards
194s kind of path that it takes so I'm
197s obviously from people watching the
199s trailer to kick it off someone mentioned
201s that one of the temples look similar
202s from pieces I hate so looking like
204s someone like environment stuff like that
206s right yes well this is the extension
209s from the era you see they're sort of
211s starting bit in pieces of hate and then
214s this goes to see more of it all right
217s I've just realised this 14 of these
218s concept art so I'll speed up a little
220s realize okay this is the temple and
224s presumably right but looks a bit in the
226s top left yes yes that is the initial
231s area that you kind of visit in pieces of
234s hate but redone for the dungeon the
237s second if we go across horizontally yes

247s yeah so we've got more of the temple
250s interior and then the the purpley swirly
253s bit was a really cool concept these are
256s done by mod backing a Zed which is a
261s terrible name he should be ashamed
264s but yeah I think mod nice pants calls
266s him baking ass instead yeah but but the
270s kinga's back Inga's ed came up with this
274s kind of like purple swirl where the
276s black hands and black stone coming out
279s and it's kind of like a ritual summing
281s summoning area for he who shall not be
285s named
285s all right next one oh wow okay that's
289s kind of kicking in a little bit now so I
292s mean is this kind of shows like I mean
295s we're gonna show you guys obviously some
297s of the in-game environments which is
298s obviously very exciting but it's crazy
300s how open-minded concept that can be
303s obviously when it goes from concepts for
304s finish to finalization so I think it's
306s awesome just to see it yeah that's
307s that's the key thing we have a number of
309s different stages and different types of
310s concept art we've got kind of like high
313s concept and then you've got production
315s and all those views for the other
317s artists so modelers and character
321s artists and whatnot so this is just kind
323s of like a concept of the choral area
327s itself like there's a pirate battle and
330s a coral reef what would it look like if
331s you went and explored it on foot as a No
335s someone say that can we get these as
336s wallpapers they look amazing modern EQ I
338s believe you are working to try and get
340s some wallpapers released for this
342s content release correct so we have one
345s exclusively dungeon wallpapers coming
347s out on Monday if you want to put them
349s onto your desktops so that's very
351s exciting let's keep going on okay so
354s this is leading into boss boss area as
357s it were so how it goes from start to
358s finish I guess yes this one is a
363s gameplay concept so mods over took a
368s screenshot of what he had mapped or
371s spoken to
373s what's your mod name J over J the CDJs
379s your mod read I mean excellent and so
382s mod read who shares a name with me which
385s is great
387s spoke to mod SOVA and together they
389s mapped out this prototype boss arena for
393s boss 1 which is the Christine the wife
395s and the the Beast of many heads
397s and you can see there how the concept
401s artist has taken the the red areas and
404s added caves where the heads pop out of
406s and they're telling a story with the
409s environment but it's also more
410s importantly functional for us as
413s encounter developers and designers
416s alright okay so I guess some of the more
421s environmentally stuff I guess is the
423s word for it yeah see props yeah that
426s makes sense
427s doodads and props and we'll go on okay
432s Wow again these are kind of high concept
435s feature pieces so none of this stuff and
440s as is always the case with something
441s like 90% of concept art ever makes it
443s into the game but what it does do is
445s allows us to discuss feelings and moods
448s and what we'd call hero pieces like do
451s we want to spend two weeks for the
454s environment artist to make a really cool
457s bespoke archway or is it going to be
459s better if we show the story this way and
461s yeah again more will come on this type
464s of thing later on cool all right we'll

471s there's a lot of purple here I notice
473s oh the text lava lamp effect on the far
477s right here any ideas yeah that's for the

491s sight on view of what a 3d modeler would
495s use to craft it in in Maya or in 3ds max

519s working is intended it looks absolutely
522s gold because it is the modeling game it

526s knight versions are really cool it has

614s essentially sea creatures coming around
616s or running which is awesome so how was

638s dungeon format as we were so if you're

642s NPCs here you have to kill critical NPCs

648s because we're badass we're just gonna do
650s that and just carry on in our adventures
651s J mod hax so there is quite bright
657s you've got a lot of sea life fish in the
659s manta rays and all this sort of nice

662s and colorful plant life and stuff I'm
666s still quite pleasant so I mean just from
670s initially so you mentioned also you
671s start from above so presumably you
673s descend yeah right yeah I say as you
676s work your way through even this section
678s and then into the latest sections and
679s you're working way further down into the
681s EC and it will slowly get darker more
685s scary and yeah yeah so obviously you can
689s imagine there is NPCs lifted around
691s these areas obviously no spoilers fall
693s it was 40 towards to show them hello

699s through the water to give you an idea
701s cuz I always love doing these in the
703s dungeon streams what I love doing is
705s with NXT we have the ability to show the
706s mini-map this is where we are this is
708s how big we're looking at now the black
710s stuff up here that's more of the map but
712s we haven't rendered it we haven't gotten
713s that far this is just a beginning bit I
715s always love the scale of these I think
718s it's absolutely amazing so knowing that
720s this is just the start of it it's
721s absolutely awesome it looks amazing
723s already yeah so we reused a lot of
726s existing assets and stuff to help be
729s able to make such a large environment
731s within the time frame we had so you'll
733s probably see bits of architecture and
735s stuff from past dungeons so if you watch
738s a trailer you might know as a cliff
739s aware people across in the mast we're
742s not gonna be able to because obviously
743s we're kind of cheating here so and they
745s just go down here drop down the level
748s and we should be to carry on there we go

751s is good and then as you might have seen
754s in the concept that when you saw that
755s boss room we're coming up this so how
757s was it designed by the way love the
758s ships crashed into the rocks and stuff
761s it looks awesome how is it designing
763s most areas for what it was yeah so as
765s you saw in some of the concepts are some
767s areas we will actually get paint over
769s and we'll try and almost replicate it in
771s 3d
772s whereas other stuff will kind of have to
774s will get flavor for it and then we'll
775s and design it around the engine look at
778s it this way it makes complete sense just
780s a full screen app for us but I mean yeah
781s it looks I mean awesome this is where

824s more colorful bits the lighting will

830s leading down to the old pieces of hate
832s quest now so you kind of see it below
834s I love the tie-in that's so awesome how
836s you've essentially you guys have tied in
838s environmentally but of course on the
840s quest inside depends how you kind of
841s brought this in I think that's really
842s awesome I'm again I said already but
844s just seeing the random fishies appear oh

849s you're just going on your adventures I
850s think it's awesome okay let's try and
852s drop down the level without trying to
855s break it okay we're good cool and this
860s is again presumably the fun compete hit

862s so once you've killed all the enemies in
864s this area you'll be able to enter the
866s previously locked door and make you a
868s land area I don't know if we're gonna be
870s able to go through that door actually

879s won't work but you can cheat your way to

885s so he can teleporter area number two

927s certain bit naturally might notice where
929s they're running down a pathway which i
930s think is one of my favorite shots of the

937s I give you guesses for trying to figure

986s is a boss area number two Bassem away
989s boss to has had no information revealed

995s that's Tarek at the necromancerr yeah

1000s notice that that is a character that
1002s already exists but you've never seen
1003s before and he has a tremendous voice

1011s number 2 and again I think it's really
1013s important to emphasize you know the
1015s spacing is obviously key to kind of
1018s showing us off but again it's always
1019s about these little fins to add to it I
1021s don't know I just I have I'm a sucker
1023s for good aesthetics in content and early
1025s dungeons I mean we do such a good job of
1027s them all times
1027s another yeah this area's fun that this
1030s kind of chorus Colosseum style
1032s architecture we still got more this to
1035s go honestly ridiculous ridiculous so as
1039s we've made our way down deeper now you
1041s can tell the Lighting's darker it's a
1042s bit creepier there's not so much fish
1046s and stuff we got sharks and stuff in
1047s certain areas if you don't know
1049s obviously this content releases on
1051s Monday we're hyped
1052s I think that's safe to say you know it's
1054s the end of the trilogy from on CED 182
1057s on to e d3 while we're at it lets us
1062s make our way through again you can kind
1065s of figure out the pastures they're going
1066s through but of course during this you'll
1068s have mini-bosses 16 mini-bosses correct
1070s correct 16 mini bosses throughout this
1073s with a sure up to four but five we've
1076s spotlight on correct say I've done my
1079s research this is yes I'll I know it's
1081s good to know I've told I'm glad talking
1083s nonsense oh so carry on no there won't
1085s be 16 spawns there's a total of 16 it
1087s rolls from for if it's a dungeon on
1090s what's called spotlight which is a new
1091s fin actually while we're here to talk
1093s about that really quickly what a
1094s spotlight is yeah sure could you bring
1096s up the group interface and it may even
1098s be visible group in sister oh yes there
1100s we go so today the temple of nominations
1103s on spotlight and so it gives you 25
1106s percent dungeoneering experience and
1107s additional an additional mini boss for
1109s mini boss will spawn and also give you a
1111s reduction of death costs is he gonna be
1114s on shadowy from day of release that's a
1116s good question I mean we could work it
1118s out now what are we Tuesday Wednesday
1120s Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday night be
1123s temple Domenici on Monday shadow reef I
1126s thought we're gonna be nice for day one
1128s there we are nice because obviously you
1131s should do it in sequence start off with
1134s the extra rewards the tile keep that
1140s secret
1141s I mean you we can we can have a look at
1143s some of it I think you want to go to 86
1146s one four four two yeah that's good
1149s around that area eighty six four four

1177s how big the area is arena free this is
1179s just a starter of course as we make our

1193s imagine will give us a preview of a
1194s couple of things related to audio but

1199s finale yeah a lot of deaths pocket-money
1207s that's rich chefs pocket-money so it's a
1211s big arena I mean that much is obvious
1213s so this is where it'll all go down it
1215s looks incredible and the arena as well
1218s as huge so question when it comes down
1221s to it and how was it working back and
1224s forth from the process to try and find
1225s the balance and style that works for
1227s obviously deaths for yourself when it
1229s comes to making arena yeah it's quite
1231s quite challenging just getting to know
1232s the game and kind of what we can and
1235s can't do and then yeah getting people to
1237s play through it and get feedback on
1239s lighting and like the layout and things
1242s like that so yeah people get in how the
1246s boss spawns well let you guys figure it
1247s out Odette touch that don't work
1248s presumably correct they do work but you
1251s don't really get any of the achievements
1254s or any of that and you miss out the cool
1256s boss phases so it's up to you and so
1259s yeah again I mean we've just skipped
1263s through and it's been wofe almost what
1264s almost 10 minutes and that was a
1266s skipping through but I was actually
1267s playing it so there's a lot to explore
1269s but I mean I'm sure the chat will give
1272s me credit where it's due

1282s next on my list we have characters so

1312s characters as a way of elite danger for
1315s it has that been no it's been a ride
1317s yeah so I was lucky to join on temple of
1320s a menisci and and sort of work on each
1322s each dungeon and yeah I've had the
1325s privilege of making a lot of them the
1327s key characters I the bosses and things
1329s awesome
1330s so joining I get your stuff ready before
1333s we have on to the PC so will them know
1335s that piss stuff as always with these
1338s streams we want to make them as visual
1340s as possible we love doing them it does
1341s take time to set them up but I guess the
1343s fun and appeal comes we're showing the
1345s work being done so yeah so I'm gonna
1347s start off by showing the probably the
1350s most visible boss that's done so you
1354s guys may have seen this this was the
1357s render them showed off a trim fest and
1358s yeah so this is the sculpt render of the
1361s Ambassador
1362s probably my favorite character that I've
1365s worked on for this dungeon see how is
1371s control that Mouse well that would that
1373s would be the answer this why I'm not
1374s gonna this he was a fairly challenging
1377s character to think about how to how to
1380s create not just for animation posing him
1383s and thinking about how to how to sort
1384s this chest cavity yet but his design is
1386s fairly complex and he's really as you
1388s can see a lot of lovely shapes going on
1391s there that little squid tentacles on a
1394s detail in there yeah he was really cool
1399s fair play that looks awesome
1400s yeah drunk you can click the arrow I
1402s guess sure I moved the mouse wheel oh
1404s yeah yeah it was just a planar rendered
1407s too so you can see some of the the
1409s detail there just a white pass so why do
1411s you do renders like this just so a
1412s newbie like make something really I've
1413s got an idea of it so why do you do
1415s renders this this is just the best
1416s represent what the final result of the
1419s scope looks like for me
1420s before I take it through to making the
1422s in-game mesh the low poly mesh which is
1424s the one that actually ends up going in
1426s game and before I start painting any
1428s textures I often it'll look like this
1431s pretty much except a little bit less
1433s less detail because this is a quite a
1435s detailed render that you do it takes a
1437s bit of time but yeah so and and it's
1441s nice to show for other artists they like
1443s to see this stage and I'm sure you guys
1445s do hopefully you do and then move
1448s straight on to showing you the final
1452s model now oh here we go full screen it
1454s was great it oh my God look at that I've
1458s got the Ambassador here in the marmoset
1461s viewer so you can take take a look again
1465s you guys think yeah so he's pretty
1470s awesome
1471s I had to say I had a lot of fun doing
1472s and it was challenging and you know
1476s mostly the ornamental detail that expand
1478s on his back that took quite a bit of
1482s time to get that right but I can break
1485s down this process just a little bit here
1488s thankfully with this I love that that's
1491s a source of god yeah so the when I use
1494s the scope for is to generate the normals
1496s for the mesh this is a texture map which
1498s the in-game engine reads and it can
1501s actually generate lining information
1503s like casting shadows it reads it as
1505s though it casts shadows so that adds
1506s that's how I can capture the detail from
1509s that High Definition mesh I actually put
1511s it on to what is a fairly basic low poly
1515s mesh that the in-game model uses so you
1518s can see here's a it's it's pretty low
1520s poly and pretty efficient because we
1521s need to need to try to keep it simple
1523s for animation and everything so that's a
1526s bit of a challenge in itself sometimes
1528s creating that low poly mesh over the top
1530s of that detailed Scott after that I
1533s unwrap it create like a a
1536s two-dimensional texture sheet pattern
1538s that I can paint and project back onto
1540s the model this is this is the actual raw
1542s texture you can see the no
1544s post-processing now no after-effects
1546s attitude even there it looks really nice
1548s but obviously you can see how the
1550s additional effects just help
1552s make it I've done what the word is but
1554s make that make it stand out that much
1555s more but I mean even that looks so
1557s awesome yeah and this is just simulating
1559s some different lighting and you can see
1561s the normals in play here I believe
1567s probably not but yeah that's the
1569s Ambassador for you that looks fun
1572s fighting fighting here funds the word
1577s but I mean yeah it looks awesome next
1580s I'm going to move on to the you've seen
1583s a sneak peek of in the trailer the
1584s crusty Leviathan now here's the sculpt
1587s for the crossing Leviathan and that I
1589s did just a quick render here girls have
1592s another one here I should just move I
1597s see that's the end result of the scope
1600s from my end and I'm going to show you
1602s the final model again Oh first time I
1606s shouldn't find the mother Paula Patton
1608s trailer but look at that oh my lord oh I
1613s love that
1614s and it's in them yeah that looked yeah
1616s seriously
1617s so this is why it's way to fail away
1619s hips okay wow he's a fun one to make as
1623s well and especially to see animate it's
1626s really really cool you guys are in for a
1628s treat later when you see see some ozone
1630s and someone said I'm assuming you use
1631s ZBrush for sculpting yeah that's great
1634s and so this this is a a custom lighting
1638s setup in here but I can show you the the
1641s raw so here's a here's the baked the
1644s normal map so you can see what that
1646s looked like before I moved on to
1648s texturing alright here's the low poly we
1652s showed you that showed you that first
1655s yeah as you can see it's pretty pretty
1658s low poly pretty minimal detail there and
1661s here is the raw texture even that I mean
1667s you could definitely see the colors like
1668s this than now but I'm honestly when the
1671s effects all kick in you can see such a
1673s difference there and even though it
1674s looks really nice with the
1676s post-processing really does help do it
1678s that much more for houses to soul
1680s materials and like get the effect to
1682s that pearlescent kind of effect on
1684s like his ancient you kind of clouded
1686s over a little bit so maybe correct me if
1688s I'm wrong the reason why he shaded at
1690s the back is because he's inside an area
1692s right because we want see the entire
1694s yeah I've created an effect in this
1696s scene just so that you can you don't end
1698s up having the model just check because
1699s he does yeah it's supposed to be like a
1702s mini added beast and his I couldn't
1704s model the whole body so yeah he has an
1707s end but this is just a nice wave for
1709s this scene to fade it out and give the
1711s impression he's sort of coming out of
1712s the murky depths of the other sea and
1715s and there's this is kind of to simulate
1717s like a spotlight
1718s so maybe shining on him someone said I
1720s want to see the second boss are we gonna
1723s see the second boss is the question the
1725s the second boss I didn't actually work
1727s on the second boss um so I haven't got
1729s any images to show for that it's a real
1732s scene of all the bosses who've been kept
1734s the secret our care has done an
1736s incredible job of staying away from
1737s everything that's because his fight is
1741s exciting but imagery isn't overly
1743s amazing he's our customary recolor of
1747s elite dungeons each dungeon has one yeah
1750s so you guys can probably talk about that
1752s oh yeah sure I'll show a mini boss that

1864s collaborative process with some the
1867s Ambassador was set because we had the
1870s the contraband stuff that really supreme
1872s is rune fest and we knew that we wanted
1874s the ambassador to be the final boss so
1876s he was set in stone which is relatively
1878s I mean making the mechanics was true
1880s we nearly got rid of the ambassador for
1882s bossy mad boss face instead that is true
1883s that's the final but I don't believe
1885s that things like the Christine Leviathan
1893s was a very interesting design meeting we
1895s came up with every single mechanic yeah
1897s with the animator the character artist
1902s myself mods over and I believe more
1905s camera as well at the time although he
1908s may have joined the project a couple of
1909s weeks later he was there he was there
1911s and yeah we did all of the mechanics for
1915s the krusty and the wife in it in an hour
1916s and we addressed all of the concerns
1918s that we had about it being ballet
1920s friendly and naturally kind of being
1923s male a metaphor you more than anything
1924s and we had some amazing concept art that
1927s we did that can't be shared oh that's
1929s because it's not it's not on purpose but
1933s its heads looked a bit so the fight is a
1939s bunch of your heads coming out of caves

1944s it was pornographic it's good so
1953s actually one question no it's true JT
1955s start to finish how long do these models
1957s take oh so that that really just depends
1961s on the concept and the design usually a
1964s character like like one of these bosses
1966s would be anywhere from three to four

1972s concept art and things like that because
1974s that takes a bit of time too but yeah
1976s fortunately had some some really awesome
1977s concept art crashing the light and
1979s concept art by buying mod nice pants I
1982s believe and yeah the Ambassador had a
1986s polish phase that mod my back-end Z I
1990s don't know faking ass are you supposed

1999s like such an awesome bit to show

2087s for Jane for him for him it was
2089s interesting to model and it was really
2091s interesting to to animate because you
2096s know you never seen anything like this
2097s before right so start off with you know
2100s I think this was probably my first rig
2104s that I made in my own okay in production
2106s for this so it's kind of like jump into
2109s the deep end making the rig for this guy
2111s because he's pretty complicated
2113s especially if he if you see his chest it
2117s looks really natural like very smooth as
2119s well especially that I obviously just
2121s seen the animation sway and idle it's
2123s very very smooth yeah I mean I think
2125s that's one of the main benefits of Maya
2126s and that we have per feet when we want
2129s to more in the future although you are
2131s smoothing over the fact that in the
2133s rigging we did actually exceed the limit
2135s of bones that we wanted really at the
2140s portal area to be really smooth but
2141s because we got limits with bones and
2144s joints we had to take some out but we
2148s didn't lose nothing we just made more
2149s efficient yeah yeah but yeah I mean like
2152s for the Idol itself we went for somebody
2156s similar to the concept art I'm sure
2157s you've seen the concept art for it's
2160s very kind of like like a Shaolin monk
2162s kind of peaceful hands together kind of
2166s pose and of course because being in the
2169s water so we had to make him kind of
2170s flowy move about a bit as well so when
2173s people see him he doesn't look still but
2178s yeah he was a very interesting guy to
2180s work on mm-hmm where we go next
2182s so we've got this ideal extra so by
2186s either extra just to clarify just so
2188s players flavor stuff so okay so you're
2191s adding a bit of personality into the
2193s character just with a little flourish
2196s you know just occasionally plays just to
2199s show a little extra bit so instead of
2201s just playing the idol line like yes they
2203s can play and it's a little variant a
2205s little bit flavor yeah nice I mean for
2208s this guy it would be weird for him to do
2210s something really like crazy for his idol
2212s so and being a boss as well because
2215s you're constantly fighting him you don't
2216s want him to just suddenly snap into my
2218s lecture doing crazy things so we had him
2221s to do a quite simple thing to do just
2223s like a finger tapping kind of just to
2227s get that kind of like sinister evil vibe
2229s across what's quite well yeah yeah no
2233s you just got this little mandible things
2236s just going around there oh yeah so for
2240s the Idol extra it went playing like all
2242s the time yes very rare well we got next
2245s so next we look at his his magic attack
2251s oh oh hello it's on autoplay you want to
2254s click the dots yeah click dots is it yep

2273s melee attack Oh interesting Mac there's
2275s a magic attack oh the magic that's just
2276s - the effects we just wanted to
2279s concentrate on the character animation

2283s so for this you know even though he is
2289s like a really kind of tranquil I don't
2291s like quite a scene quite peaceful but
2293s when he attacks we wanted him to be like
2295s really powerful so for this magic attack
2297s we really wanted to show kind of him
2300s really pushing out energy from him from
2302s him for the attack and I think
2305s interesting for this animation is what
2307s we experimented with the if you see on
2310s the hand he's got some shaking yes so
2313s good thing of my you get you get we can
2316s like find scripts on other people and
2318s one of the scripts we had was to help
2320s like and cause a shaky movement and the
2322s whatever wanted me I think um at the
2326s beginning
2327s we had kind of like the whole top torso
2330s on shaky and I think that really didn't
2334s work too well so we kind of like took it
2338s back a bit and just applied it to the
2339s hand and the thing that worked much
2341s better they got a new toy if don't want
2346s me asking so if you notice when the
2348s animation starts is like a slight is
2350s that it can you see that for a second
2352s what the claw comes through if that I'm
2354s presumably that's not intended right
2355s right there I don't if you can see that
2358s well a little bit yeah probably not
2361s intended but it's thanks mikeandjess for
2368s this one get a sword so that's fine so I
2370s said what happened to the teeth in the
2371s chest and his model I believe of
2375s sculpting and when they had the Tia
2377s there yeah so not final journey is not
2380s mine August closed up so you went you
2382s don't really see the design in middle we

2394s a special attack so again whoa can't

2424s the air and then drop down and I think
2427s like to me this kind of attack more
2431s interesting we kind of like made the
2434s timing of the of the attack kind of not
2436s even so if you had an even timing of
2439s your animation it wouldn't look that
2440s good so what we had was for the
2443s anticipation when he when he jumps into
2445s the air he kind of hangs longer and then
2448s when he gets to kind of like the top it
2451s kind of quickly jumps down and then this
2453s is attack so that gives it a bit more
2454s power when he
2456s jumps down so it looks like Cristiano
2460s Ronaldo celebrating his goal it's
2478s actually like the crystals falling off
2479s there is a really nice touch I mean I
2481s think that's really awesome and showing
2483s I guess there what's going on this wow
2485s that looks really awesome so nice I am
2492s sorry yeah move on to once we got there
2494s we go on to the unify them there Wow
2504s so this is Idol presume yes nice
2509s sweeping through Jagex lovely for this
2515s Pheidon again very very very interesting
2519s and may again with the rig discussion on
2524s how to make the rig because it's quite a
2526s sneaky kind of character but to find the
2529s right kind of rig to to help kind of
2532s make these snaky shapes easier for us to
2534s animate with and so we ended up using

2542s like when we animate we try to find
2544s references but we ain't get creatures
2547s for these kind of like fantasy worlds
2548s it's really hard to find you know real
2550s life references so yeah so once that

2662s that fruit lizards but they use it like
2664s as a as a warning to the predator so is

2670s attack oh god they're gonna screenshot
2673s that and put some random crap on it and
2677s it's gonna be you and mod mark or
2679s something it's gonna be some weird
2681s amalgamation every we got one more it's

2696s that's quite upset or retreat animation

2719s the weight because it's pretty big snake

2726s in the air for quite a long time and
2727s then he hits the ground and to show you
2729s the weight of the I don't know four
2731s people saying this clipping that is not
2733s that that's not how it actually looks in
2734s game I'm guessing because you've just
2736s added the ship in just to demonstrate
2737s right yeah okay yeah there's an uneven
2740s like ocean floor as well it's not like
2742s yeah a flat plane that's just a working
2744s environment because this isn't in the
2746s actual environment offset that little
2749s intersection before was accident no that
2751s would be more like that would be
2754s noticeable like these guys have meetings
2757s right we literally go over them and
2758s actually look at stuff like this so you
2760s have definitely noticed I mean it looks
2764s so good mott slippers yes maybe we can
2778s get that done anything or anything like
2786s that that we wear you might have missed

2792s really great I would clap every time

2910s of music we know but we've we've got two
2914s voiced bosses and eleven voiced mini
2917s bosses and of course there's all the
2920s environments there's all the other
2921s characters the NPC's and everything that
2923s are in it and so it's a really massive
2925s update for us and yeah the the musical
2928s direction this time has been has been a
2930s bit it's been a bit different because
2932s whereas the others have got have had a
2934s kind of relatively homogenous approach
2937s to their areas you know like temple of
2938s amnesia was all you know it's all very
2940s much inside that temple and although
2942s there were different rooms and different
2943s sort of styles within it very much other
2945s kind of eastin you feel you know temple
2947s feel to it and then the same with Dragon
2949s kin it was very much you know all within
2950s this kind of you know whereas this is
2955s like we've got three very distinct areas
2958s and so we you know we wanted to sort of
2961s maintain some kind of consistent thread
2962s all the way through but also sort of
2965s make it you know make it clear that the
2967s music was different in each of the areas
2968s so we got we did two tracks per per area
2970s for the area music and then a track each
2973s for the Legaspi dick and the areas we we
2976s named all the tracks after the pelagic
2978s zones which are
2980s different depth zones in the ocean so
2983s Wow okay
2983s so you start off with epi pelagic
2985s mesopelagic bathypelagic abyssal pelagic
2988s in Hadoop logic those are all the three
2990s the five so instead as you go down in
2995s the ocean and we actually needed another
2997s one because there were and because two
3000s times three is six one up we gave
3002s ourselves the creative lessons and
3004s modder you've made it up and it's drak
3005s open logic track up logic I can kill
3007s area and so I'll play some stuff then
3009s for the area music we've got the very
3012s first thing you're gonna hear when you
3014s start the game is when you start this
3016s just before you hit play can we go on to
3018s the PC screen so we can see that the
3021s life and die and while having the music
3022s play because why not let's up the audio

3035s just sort of given it can give an

3040s inspired by my trip to Bristol aquarium

3053s they were playing this sort of really
3055s lovely ambience sort of synth way to be
3056s sound music in there when I went and it
3059s just went so well with all the kind of
3061s the rays and the fish and everything
3063s floating around in the blue and all the
3064s light and stuff and so I thought we
3066s really want that kind of lovely kind of
3067s floaty sound you know when we first get
3072s there but then we want to be very
3073s quickly reminded why we are in this very
3076s beautiful place because we've got a
3077s we're on a mission and things you know
3080s time is of the essence and so I hope
3082s that come I didn't realize this actually
3084s might get rid of the idol if you can
3085s right-click it can we try and play that

3404s this black stone theme running through
3406s things so we've got the this was
3408s actually an idea of moderns to kind of
3410s have some recurring theme based on the
3412s black stone stuff so I'll just give you
3414s a quick refresher we had black stone we
3417s had say you might remember black stone
3422s shadows from Temple of amanushi yeah
3428s none of us just let us see this is where
3432s the eastern beans came right so we had
3438s that theme that do la do la kind of
3441s thing and then we get we got that again
3443s in black stone scales and Dragon King

3461s that theme and this very sudden happen
3463s recently
3464s sidestream early dungeons on my personal
3467s life that theme is obviously first from
3469s here when you first go in and I seem
3472s same as like I always say the afterlife
3474s people always stand out for me it's one
3475s of the best boss dreams I've heard in

3485s Blackstone that we've got in the final
3486s Blackstone piece which is called
3487s Blackstone summons and this is the the
3490s big you know kind of like the endgame
3492s thing and it's we've rather than going

3496s of thing we've got with a lot more sort
3497s of it's a lot more kind of do me it's a
3500s lot more kind of like all kind of scary
3502s sort of like gothic kind of thing so

3627s kind of bits for this sound effect for
3630s the San fix this Leviathan I basically

3644s yeah walruses whales kind of their you
3647s know doing they're kind of blowing air
3648s and all that kind of stuff so there's

3652s load of fun with it and then synced up

3655s a bit translucent in this but some
3657s reason that's all we use for the audio
3658s sometimes doesn't do the models that

4306s stream everyone went oh my god that's
4308s ridiculous and we joked about nerfing it
4310s but we had crunched the numbers again
4311s after that because you worried us and we
4313s realized it was actually underpowered
4316s bearing in mind that when you remove
4319s your weapon the effect is removed so for
4322s those of you that are kind of
4323s knowledgeable about your PVM and whatnot
4324s you need with strike switches I'm going
4326s to be as potent with this thing because
4329s you cancel the effect but it has a few
4332s interesting moments in a veranda Cerie
4336s you and stuff like that and maybe on aod
4338s where you would want to pop that and go
4341s mental so obviously as a note you can
4344s see in the tooltip 25% adrenaline to use
4347s they'll called up there's no cooldown so
4349s you can use it as many times if you want
