Out of my own curiosity, and possibly giving some much needed insight to the playerbase. If any J-mods respond, even partially, I'd be happy. I doubt any will, if they're even allowed to, due to the nature of the questions. Reddit seems like the place to go for things like this anymore, and I can never catch a Q&A. Meh.

Here goes:

  • What's your favorite piece of content that you have worked on?
  • Was it your most passionate? If not, what was?
  • What piece of content have you worked on that you weren't passionate about?
  • What's your favorite piece of content that other developers have made?
  • What's your favorite piece of content that you have worked on that was suggested by players?
  • What's your *least favorite piece of content that you've worked on that was suggested by players?
  • Has there been content you've felt should not have been released when it did, or at all?
  • Has there been content you've felt should have been released sooner?
  • Are there any changes in game you'd like to make?
  • Has there been anything you've wanted to change, but didn't get permission for?
  • What do you like the most about what you do?
  • What do you dislike the most about what you do?
  • How do you feel about the current state of RS, and what do you think should be done?

Bonus points:

  • Do you feel that Jagex isbeingtooaggressivewithMTX?
  • Are you losing passion for working on RS due to the consistent flood of negative player feedback?
  • Do you think players are too picky about what to expect from Jagex?

EDIT: I see a lot of players complaining that J-Mods are replying to this post as opposed to others. I tried to design these questions with the thought in mind of being able to work our ideas around what they enjoy doing. That way, things might go a little smoother in the future. I know it probably won't work like that, but I figured it was worth a shot. It's all on how you perceive it.

Also, thank you to the J-Mods that have replied. You guys are awesome, even if the community doesn't tell you all the time. You make the game we're passionate about, we wouldn't be on this sub, otherwise.

What's your favorite piece of content that you have worked on?

  • Telos is the content I'm most proud of, but I've loved all of the projects I've worked on, to name a few there are; GWD2, Children of Mah, Goebie quest / tutorial island quest (Beneath cursed tides), Raids, Catherby rework, Skilling pets , Menaphos.

Was it your most passionate? If not, what was?

  • Telos, so yep!

What piece of content have you worked on that you weren't passionate about?

  • If you're passionate about RuneScape, and you work on it, you find light in the dark, so there isn't anything I've worked on that I wasn't passionate about.

What's your favorite piece of content that other developers have made?

  • Nex (& Nex AoD), Araxxor, Gower Quest & Shattered worlds.

What's your favorite piece of content that you have worked on that was suggested by players?

  • Halloween 2015 was awesome to work on.

What's your *least favorite piece of content that you've worked on that was suggested by players?

  • I can't recall working on another player suggested update that I've worked on other than HW15* Edit: scratch that, Beneath Cursed Tides was player suggested IIRC, but still they were both fun to work on!

Has there been content you've felt should not have been released when it did, or at all?

  • Invention, however with the updates/changes we made in the following weeks it helped turn around my stance on it.

Has there been content you've felt should have been released sooner?

  • Not really, no.

Are there any changes in game you'd like to make?

  • A lot, both to existing content (expanding on it) & developing or designing new things, however I'm not mentioning anything about that here, that's what my TAPP days are for.

Has there been anything you've wanted to change, but didn't get permission for?

  • With passion comes a level of emotion when you don't get what you want, and there have been times that I've wanted to do things but couldn't, so yes, but nothing drastic.

What do you like the most about what you do?

  • Seeing you guys interact with the content that we put our time into developing, it's great seeing feedback and engagement wherever possible with a piece of content, even if it's not the feedback I "Want" to see, it helps me learn for the future & determine what changes need making. (But also QA is pretty fun)

What do you dislike the most about what you do?

  • Probably touching on the above point, going through feedback and pulling out everything negative to learn from it or decide on changes can be hard, especially when we don't get constructive feedback and instead, it's just flame.

How do you feel about the current state of RS, and what do you think should be done?

  • There are promising changes and updates in the works, especially with "Unfinished business". Some other Mods have posted mutual feelings recently so I'll leave it at that.

Are you losing passion for working on RS due to the consistent flood of negative player feedback?

  • Nope, no matter what type of feedback it is, it's one of the things that keeps me motivated. But obviously good feedback is preferable.

Do you think players are too picky about what to expect from Jagex?

  • Sometimes, however when you have different opinions on things that need to be done & priorities etc, that's bound to happen.

That's me :)

TAPP

What does that means? Looking on google I came up into this:

The way Our former president hacked into the new presidents phones.

So, are you planning to hack into Trump's Phone? (He is not my president, so, do as you wish. I am not from U.S :P)

Not quite, TAPP for us means Thursday All day Personal Projects.
