Another post, another Rubic attempt at being edgy!

One one hand he is in no position to tell others how to play the game, so the part "reminder for you to take a vacation from the game" is absurd.

On the other hand, the criticism he raises is valid as August is effectively a "no-content" month. And from your response it seems this criticism is difficult to take.

I agree with both points completely, but if you look at Rubic's posts it's consistent, is that a bad thing? Nah, feedback is good, TBH my reply was heated but its frustration, in retrospect, unneeded.

I'd love for us to have consistent months, but I'd say we've been pretty on point with our content this year, the somewhat quiet August will lead to bumper stuff as the year goes on.

I'm sure /u/ImRubic gets the frustration also as I had a similar conversation to him about something he got a little wrong which was the distribution of Clan Cup rewards.

I really like this background. Looks peaceful.

I didn't even know we had a login background for this update, completely caught me out when I saw it, is now my desktop wallpaper :D

point is with a bit more care and balancing even this content could've been worth while instead of being totally pointless. absolutely none of the buffs listed gives me any reason to log in, i don't want it to be that way, i'd much rather have something to do..but come on, 5% reduced burn chance? who came up with that? what is desirable about that?

You have to remember not all buffs have to be for all high level players, that burn chance is ideal for low-mid level players without cooking gauntlets, etc.

The buffs are just an addition on top of what you already do, you shouldn't need to see the buffs as a reason to login but it depends on what you prefer to do!

That was me. I felt the frustration yourself and others were feeling was due to a misunderstanding of the work left to be completed on the weapon diversity project, and the framework that has already been developed, which is why I felt it unreasonable to address the claims of unfinished work. In hindsight I shouldn't have said anything, and I apologise.

Feedback and bugs found in the beta will have the time allocated if necessary, but we're still on track for our expected sign-off with everything that has come up so far and everything we still wish to do.

I think what we're seeing here is... we're just passionate and sometimes it boils over into our comments, just the way it is sometimes!

We play the game also, some of us quite a lot since we enjoy playing it and yeah that I think/hope comes across.

I didn't mind the remark personally.

But I'd say Jagex hasn't been consistent with content this past year. Currently I'm in the processes of making a post showcasing exactly what I mean but it's a post I rather do right than post it just for karma or out of spite. (And I'd love to discuss some details privately when I get the chance, Shauny).

For example, in the past 12 months, there have been more patch weeks than any other 12 month segment. Or if you go specifically by 2019, 2019 has had more patch weeks than any other year (except 2018) despite us only being 7 months in.

My frustration is mainly out of passion for this game, rather than hatred. I like the Jagex employees, but I get frustrated with the business side of the company.

That's simply due to the fact we're focusing a lot more on bugfixing, etc.

We have a vast amount of content in-game for players to play and we wanted to improve existing content to give a better experience.

In the recent patch weeks we've seen at least 100+ patch notes, looking at our release board we have another 350 jobs awaiting release, and we're aiming to get an additional 100+ jobs going through so we get a nice backlog of fixes to launch.
