I don't know if i just have too high of expectations or what but am I the only one who's really disappointed with this event? It's one thing for it to be a bad event but its another thing for it to be for the 20th runescape anniversary. There isn't really anything to do other then a small quest that gives xp stars and the portal send you off to do normal quests that you could otherwise do with or without the event so that's not even part of the event, it's old content. What even is the update? There's literally nothing new lol.

Thanks for your thoughts on this everyone.

Rest assured, we've got plenty to come to celebrate RuneScape's 20th Anniversary. With an Anniversary this big, the intention is to spend a whole year celebrating rather than just a single day. If you aren't quite feeling the Anniversary spirit yet, there's still plenty to come that will hopefully hit those notes for you.

This event - The Grand Party - is all about celebrating some of the core aspects of RuneScape across January. The nostalgia laden mini-quests this week are all about celebrating the fantastic history of Quests in RuneScape, but in the coming weeks, we'll have different themes that focus on celebrating other parts of the RuneScape experience too.

There'll be some really (!!) juicy bonuses within each 'Celebration' theme that will put the focus on types of content across the game - and take the party spirit well beyond the borders of the Crater. You'll also have the chance to sink your teeth into the Prologue of the multi-part 20th Anniversary Quest series later this month too!

If you are wanting to dive into celebrating the birthday itself today, we'd love for you to join us in the Crater for a big get together in a few hours too! A whole host of J-Mods will be jumping into the Crater on World 1 and 16 today at 5pm Game Time if you'd like to join us. Hope to see you there.

But thats exactly what it is. They stretch it out so they can go a whole month or two without any real content. I personally don't need always new content, but rather fixing some of the old content would suffice. One may only wonder why runescape doesn't have any devs anymore. Because it clearly isn't worked on anymore. That's why we're not getting updates or content fixes anymore, they don't have people to work on them.

We've been releasing monthly content updates, which we're continuing into 2021, and the team is growing substantially right now so that we can up our capabilities even more with that monthly drop approach. It's very much the opposite of that. There's more on this here if you're interested: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/mod-wardens-wintumber-letter-2020

That was an unintended broadcast that we hotfixed out yesterday. Sorry for the confusion!

You’ve been hitting regular all time low quest levels for years and that is even with cutting corners. Modern Jagex does not have the capacity to deliver a multi-part quest series.

We're committed to more Quests this year - the multi-part 20th Anniversary Quests aren't the only ones planned for 2021 either.

We've been delivering on the monthly content promise and we've been substantially growing the team to go even further with the kind of content we can deliver in that schedule. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised this year with what you get.
