Ok I hardly ever post on here, let alone Reddit, but this seems big enough for me to do so.
As a company, Jagex will NEVER openly admit to the item duplication/massive influx of wealth into the game. It’s a basic financial reason, because at the end of the day Jagex is a business - one which makes the bulk of its revenue off of MTX and bonds purchases, etc. The actual cash value of the first item duplication from weeks ago was $130,000 USD+ on the RWT market. It was borderline fraud and they still refuse to acknowledge that.
Because the majority of the revenue depends on these, openly admitting to a massive item and cash duplication will create massive amounts of inflation, as most people will see fit to react to. You’re currently seeing this, with the rares/discontinued market. There is obvious price manipulation in the phat market, people selling to their own alts, etc, but the number one cause of this massive increase is due to a huge influx of cash in the game that needs to be hidden/laundered via means of rares/phats.
Jagex will never admittedly release the number of current rares, a program to track them, or admit there are massive amounts of cash now added to the economy, because doing so will devaluate GP, bonds, and cause inflation amongst rares. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the duplication has occurred multiple times. Yellow phat has increased 4b in 2-3 weeks despite being duplicated.
Jagex most likely hadn’t fixed the dupe issue until today (which I still doubt) and admitting it has occurred not once, but twice, (even though there is video footage of such a massive dupe) would directly prove Jagex Mods/devs as incompetent and unsuccessful. At the end of the day, their job is to manage a game BUSINESS and take orders from their company owners. Not to mention Jagex got bought out by a Chinese company years back, and I don’t trust a single thing managed by a Chinese enterprise.
Jagex mods if you read this and it gets me “banned” or whatever, I personally don’t care. It’s blatantly obvious you are lying and denying the duplication and exploitation of the game. It’s unfair to the majority of honest, paying, players. Fix yourselves.
