You're right, I shouldn't play a game that is coded so terribly that the devs have to do something so ghetto like force every server to be wiped monthly.

Agreed - and that's not the reason why monthly wipes are a thing. Bases get raided and decay just fine.

Wipes keep things fresh and levels the playing field a bit. Plus we're always adding new content - some of which may require a new map be generated otherwise you wouldn't get it.
