s hi everyone today I'd like to take a
s moment to tell you that I will be
s stepping away as a community manager for
s satisfactory as I will be leaving coffee
s stain this has not been an easy decision
s for me it is a decision that I am
s questioning even as I am recording this
s video uh because this job has been like
s the most fulfilling job I've ever had
s and I am going to really miss being a
s community manager for satisfactory
s I joined coffee sa Studios as a
s programmer to work on an unannounced
s title and uh I remember thinking like
s well this is a game I would never play
s myself uh which ended up not being true
s by the way uh but it seemed like a fun
s opportunity and the scale of the game
s was beyond anything I'd ever worked on
s before uh fast forward to later we
s announced
s satisfactory and the reception was
s beyond anything we could have ever have
s imagined um
s I feel very fortunate to have been a
s part of shaping such a celebrated game
s together with all my colleagues and and
s you all in the community it's been it's
s been one of the most rewarding years of
s my life and having the opportunity to to
s walk on stage and accept an award for
s all the hard work that everyone at the
s studios put into this game is something
s that I will treasure for the rest of my
s life what the
s having so many people be so excited
s about something we've created is
s accelerating and it's been such a thrill
s to like whenever we've had new content
s to show off uh just to see like how
s excited everyone gets when we started
s posting more regularly on the YouTube
s channel I think we had around 40,000
s subscribers or something and today we've
s grown into almost 400,000 subscribers
s and having been part of building this
s has been very gratifying uh I've gotten
s to be a part of so many extraordinary
s moments that will stick with me for the
s rest of my
s life I truly wish every game developer
s could experience what we've experienced
s working on this game and I'll probably
s never get to experience something like
s this again at this scale and and that's
s okay that's that's something that I've
s come to terms with and I've made sure to
s enjoy every moment of
s it during my time as a community manager
s I've given myself so much to this job
s and I've gotten more back from you all
s than I could ever ask for uh the
s satisfactory Community has been the best
s community I've ever been a part of and I
s truly believe it is one of the best
s communities out there
s period I will always be a part of this
s community and in many ways you've been
s as much my co-workers as the folks
s actually employed at coffee
s stain uh before I worked as a community
s manager I used to think that game
s development wasn't a very important job
s you know all things considered uh after
s all there are people out there saving
s lives in hospitals or trying to cure
s disease or you know trying to bring food
s to starving people and I'm just sitting
s here behind a computer like making video
s games but um over the years I've I've
s come to realize how much of an impact
s our game actually have had on people and
s I've I've had the chance to talk
s directly to people willing to share
s their stories of how um satisfactory has
s enriched their lives people with uh
s disabilities where satisfactory is a
s chance for them to hang out with their
s friends and feel normal folks with
s chronic pain where playing the game
s distracts them from their illness uh
s there are people who have been fighting
s addiction where the game helped ground
s them and lead them onto a path of
s improvement not trading one addiction to
s another but rather as a means to like
s help them move away from that kind of
s life and there are people out there who
s have been able to create a career living
s with our game and I think it's so
s amazing how our game created all these
s opportunities for people and I'm so
s proud for what folks in the community
s have
s accomplished um these aren't stories
s that you'll hear from just like reading
s Steam Reviews uh and it truly shows that
s games and entertainment play a very big
s part in shaping our
s lives so so why am I
s leaving um first of all I've worked on
s this game for a long time now I think
s I've released like somewhere between
s like 10 to 15 games throughout my career
s and over half of my career have been
s spent on just working outside this
s Factory I've really enjoyed working
s outside his Factory but I've also pushed
s myself really hard and at the start of
s this year I was diagnosed with
s exhaustion disorder which is a fancy way
s of saying that I was suffering from
s burnout and uh I I really didn't see it
s coming um and I had to go on sickly for
s for quite a while and it kind of made me
s realize that you know maybe I wasn't
s prioritizing my life properly and I
s really did H I didn't have anyone else
s to blame but myself for it um but I'm
s all good now and I've received a ton of
s support from Cofe stain during this time
s and and I believe that I am well back to
s my full potential but now that 1 point0
s was out and you know we started planning
s like the next beat for satisfactory I I
s really felt like
s if I ever wanted to do something else
s now is the time I felt like I just
s needed to take a step in another
s Direction and and see where it takes me
s um I I don't have a clear goal right now
s as to where I want to go and what I want
s to do but I there are many opportunities
s and in my near future I kind of want to
s focus a bit on my own content that I've
s been wanting to create for a long time
s but I just haven't had the chance or
s time to do it because I've been so
s focused on
s satisfactory so I'm going to focus a
s little bit on my own YouTube channel for
s a bit you can also follow me on Twitter
s and blue sky and Instagram and I'll be
s live streaming on Twitch here and there
s as well and uh yeah you can find all
s links in the description if you want to
s tag along and and support me I
s guess um I'll probably also be working
s on a few game ideas I've had and you
s know see where they take me uh I might
s also free a bit and work with other
s people where I can help bring their
s games to life like there are so many
s things that I could be doing and I just
s want to sort of take some time and and
s figure that out and and see where it
s goes I guess um I am I am incredibly
s grateful for everyone I've had the
s chance to interact with over the years
s and I hope we'll keep in touch because
s like I said I will always be a part of
s this community uh I'm also incredibly
s proud of everyone who's worked on this
s game together with me and I would like
s to thank you all at cang for being able
s to put up with all the dumb that
s I've done uh I I don't want to thank
s anyone by name because I feel like I
s undoubtedly will forget someone and you
s know that will halt me forever uh but I
s do want to give a special shout out of
s course to my old partner in crime Jace
s uh because if it weren't for Jace I
s probably wouldn't have found out about
s the programming job at coffee stain and
s I definitely wouldn't have ended up as a
s community
s manager uh Jace set a lot of the
s foundation for How We Do Community
s Management at Cain and our skill sets
s sort of really complemented one another
s so that we were able to do everything
s that we did uh I've learned a lot from
s working with Jace and we shared a lot of
s values and vision as to how we wanted to
s do Community Management as for
s satisfactory there are many exciting
s things on the horizon believe me while
s it might be a bummer to hear that I am
s leaving uh or maybe for some this is
s actually like some really good news but
s um next year is going to be very
s exciting for satisfactory we're finally
s coming to console there's new content
s coming with 1.1 and I can't wait to see
s you know what Mikel and the rest of the
s community team will cook up next Mikel
s is incredibly driven and I think he's
s such a great fit for this role so I am
s very confident that you will be in super
s good
s hands and you know the game has just
s gotten better and better over the years
s during early access and I am confident
s that it will keep getting better and
s better as as we keep working on it um I
s will still be around for a couple more
s videos and a couple more Dev streams uh
s I currently don't know when my last day
s will be here at cof stain but um all
s good things must come to an end uh to
s make room for the new to come
s and I hope you'll tag along on my new
s adventures uh when I
s depart thank you all for all these years
s um you've been amazing until next time
s take care
