s | I wish we were more people observing him |
---|---|
s | can we shame him can we shame him online |
s | hello my name is yannick Reuter Berg I'm |
s | a freelancing composer and sound |
s | designer I've worked for coffee-stained |
s | since since about October it was almost |
s | a year now I've been working as a sound |
s | designer for image inform their game |
s | steamer nice I've also done the sound |
s | design for the journey down |
s | chapter 3 by sky Goblin the vision for |
s | the sound and the soundtrack came from |
s | the mainly job but also a lot from |
s | Gustav the level designer but earlier |
s | composer for sanctum one I believe in |
s | goat simulator we've had different |
s | different approaches I mean in the |
s | beginning where we when we were trying |
s | to come up with a sound for the game we |
s | had a lot of discussions because we were |
s | a couple people with a vision everyone |
s | has their own visions you'll work |
s | towards that common sound it can be |
s | stressful at first but when we |
s | eventually found the Snyder we wanted |
s | haven't been been working quite freely |
s | and I enjoy that with office thing |
s | because you're not a pressuring company |
s | I've composed all the music so far we've |
s | had I think it's four sort of different |
s | boxes of music I guess you can say you |
s | have the trailer music which is I mean |
s | something else |
s | itself tempo and it's it's catching and |
s | very different from the in-game music |
s | which we divided in three sets |
s | exploration music for when you run |
s | around outside of your base |
s | [Music] |
s | and then you have the night music |
s | the factory music which plays when |
s | you're in your bass which is a bit more |
s | more happening less cinematic and more |
s | structured no satisfactory I've always I |
s | start up the game I take some |
s | screenshots of of the area for example |
s | if it's exploration music or just a |
s | factory and then I start filling about |
s | with different sounds I rarely have a |
s | strong idea beforehand I have the |
s | feeling but not the melody and not the |
s | sounds I get that out by just playing I |
s | mean it comes quite naturally when you |
s | start this soundtrack is very strongly |
s | based on a hardware synth called the ARP |
s | Odyssey which is it's an old one from |
s | the 80s and it has a very distinct SiC |
s | sound and you can hear it and I think |
s | 90% of the tracks it's there somewhere |
s | [Music] |
s | it suits the game and it's sci-fi but |
s | it's also a little bit retro I use a |
s | program called reason for some reason or |
s | writing music but then I mix and master |
s | in another software called qubits which |
s | I'm sure people will know who works yeah |
s | I compose for other media I've been |
s | composing for quite a few mobile games |
s | and anything it's a completely different |
s | format it's it's not as fun it's not as |
s | creative because it's usually just two |
s | tracks that loop over and over again so |
s | you can't do anything dramatic I can't |
s | go bananas the same way I loathe |
s | deadlines but I also love them because |
s | they mean I've never been as productive |
s | as I have been working for coffee saying |
s | that's the problem for me anyways |
s | working alone I don't I have this you |
s | know it has to be hundred percent he |
s | can't be 90 percent because there's |
s | always something you can do better and |
s | so you end up only releasing a song per |
s | year we're not releasing it at all they |
s | can find me on Soundcloud I also have |
s | some old music oh it's qualified under |
s | the name of sleepers delight at |
s | SoundCloud that's Spotify at your house |
s | I'm a serious human being I mean follow |
s | me and I will put up music every once in |
s | a while yeah I also do quite a bit |
s | programming for cops thing usually it |
s | takes about 30% of my time and I also |
s | help James out a lot |
s | I mean he really needs it try to be |
s | unique don't don't follow any bandwagons |
s | if you like something if you like |
s | working in a certain style other people |
s | are gonna like it too |
s | always strive to become better because |
s | people will notice and be humble and you |
s | will get jobs if you present yourself as |
s | a homework person not as hello I'm the |
s | best in the universe hire me my |
s | absolute favorite composer is called |
s | Thomas Dvorak the composer for most of |
s | Amanita designs games and he writes such |
s | beautiful music and it's not I'm not a |
s | fan of the orchestra you know Hollywood |
s | type music his is far from that it's |
s | very intimate |
s | I really enjoyed |
s | the soundtracks feel very appreciated |
s | when people they say stuff like and I |
s | didn't come here for the trailer I came |
s | if with music it's very fun to have |
s | people enjoy what you create it means a |
s | lot I I really hope people won't be a |
s | record |
s | disappointed when the music is not as of |
s | the beat or you know funny in that sense |
s | in the game I think they'll survive |
s | [Music] |
