Hey Pathfinders!
The next update to the Space Punks Early Access is coming on September 28th. If you caught stream on the Epic Games channel, we mentioned what you could expect, but if you missed it or just want to know more, check out the post below for details!
Crafting System
They say ‘fake it till you make it!’ but we say ‘make it and then use it cut a path of destruction through the galaxy!’
The crafting system has been revamped. You’re now going to be using bits to craft your weapons, formerly ‘crafting parts’. We’re also throwing batteries and software into the mix. The batteries will unlock software slots in your weapons, and then the software you add will help improve the stats even more!
Who doesn’t love a software update!
Blueprints
It’s always good to keep your recipes in one place so you can look at them now and then and tell yourself you’re going to make these someday! Well, now you can do that with your blueprints, or to use their new name, Punch Cards!!
We’ve added a tab to the crafting vendor so you can see which Punch Cards you’ve unlocked. Speaking of unlocked, you’ll also be able to unlock more by spending all those shiny resources you’ve been collecting or by finishing up specific tasks.
You’ll also be able to upgrade your Punch Cards which means that whatever you craft starts with some pretty incredible stats! (Until you scrap it to make something even better!)
Weapon Upgrader
In the last update, we added in the weapon upgrade system, and while it was full of substance, it lacked style, which is the same criticism my dance performance got in ‘Hoardspaces Got Talent’!
To fix this, we’ve added in some flashy effects. Things like a 3D weapon preview and an upgrade animation which changes depending on how many upgrades you’ve performed on the weapon! We’ve also made it so that the power level improvement on your weapon is communicated more clearly.
Talent Visualisations
Some of those lovely talents we added are getting a bit of sparkle! You’ll now see some special effects on certain talents after they are triggered, and some will even get duration and cooldown timers. This means we’re adding an active talent space and a cooldown space that will show you the info relevant to the triggered talent.
But wait, there’s more!
Those interior designers we got in last time have still been hard at work, so you’ll see some more improvements to Devil’s Gambit, like new lighting, new robots, and some new props; I even heard talk of some vending machines!
