The pellet hitting the stone titan, and visibly going through his character model on the 2nd shot.

and the toxic shot not having any spread on the 3rd shot? yeah... okay...

I'll work on that

No, the point blank outbreak shot is pretty suspicious and we'll look into it. (I don't think that one is related to the 3.1 aiming change fwiw). The other two slomo shots look like legit misses though: one was fired too quickly and projectiles had already passed by time enemy fell into crosshair range, and the second was due to firing at the corner of a wall. That's my read anyway.

For folks wondering about the 3.1 aiming change: the gist is, if you aim your shot to the right of a target, the projectile will pass to the right of the target. This was in response to feedback that aiming was too loose/forgiving: previously you would fire toward the background, which would allow you to hit close-range targets despite your crosshair being rather far away from them. Because the character/firing position is on the left, it made everyone easier to hit by leaning toward the right. Yes, "aim better close range" is accurate (and I wasn't making fun at anyone). If you aim toward the right or left of a target, your projectile will now actually be aimed toward that point in space, rather than some distant irrelevant spot in the background. That seems fair if you want precise aim to be important in the game.

(This isn't a new system to be clear - what 3.1 did was simply make this adjustment kick in at 5 meters away from the target rather than 10 meters away. That's literally all that changed.)

That all said, we've have heard plenty of feedback about it the past few days and are looking into it. We need to tease apart and identify the actual issues here. To some extent, it's supposed to be less forgiving and better reward good aim. On the other hand, it sounds like there are situations where it just feels bad and wrong. We've been playing with these settings internally for many weeks now; it's possible we have just gotten used to issues that y'all are seeing with fresh eyes. Finally, there's always the possibility of bugs! Even the video I posted on Twitter showed some glitches e.g. how crouching could trigger a change in trajectory. That's a pretty minor one that's unlikely to affect gameplay IMO but there could be others we haven't identified. It could also be that moving from 10 meters to 5 meters exposed bugs that always existed and just weren't that noticeable.

Point is: "roll it back" is maybe a bit premature y'all. The change was in response to player feedback, and I think most would agree it's good to improve aim precision. If that has introduced new issues or bugs, well, we gotta fix those, and we will aim to do so quickly. No pun intended. (OK, pun definitely intended.)

Also: we'll be adding a new camera option next Chapter to center the camera above the character. This effectively sidesteps almost all aiming interpretation issues, and makes situations like aiming at targets directly above you feel much more natural. (The legacy camera will still be supported for the foreseeable future though.)
