[2021] Don’t understand this game

It really feels like everyone else’s spells hit like a truck but nothing I do can hit anyone for more than 20 damage. I get killed in two shots from across the map by a frost mage but my frostbolt hits for 1/18 of their life. What am I doing wrong? Why does everyone do so much more damage than I do?

Another thing is everyone seems to have a sprint key that I don’t have. I feel like I run slower than everyone else? What’s the deal? I don’t struggle to land shots at all despite the fact I use a controller, but I just do some tiny fraction of the damage per hit everyone else does.
