I've seen the storm close to Hope's End exactly 1 time, I don't remember it ever ending at any other edge location which almost makes me think it ending up at Hope's End was a bug.

It's so boring that it always end up somewhere in the middle. The edge locations practically never see any epic late-game fighting even though they have some cool terrain.

Yes, technically are more non-edge spots than edge spots in the map, but it still seems like the algorithm leads to WAY more center circles compared to edges for some reason.

Maybe a more balanced way could be pre-generating the circles starting from the last circle at true random location and then working the way backwards to towards the larger early circles.

(additional observation and suggestion: Not sure if this is really true, but it feels like like the first circles tend to appear close to the spawn portals. This makes exploring far regions away from the portals worthless and discouraging because then you'll have to walk back anyway. It's as if the non-spawnable regions are completely out of the game.

I think true random would be nicer. It could be refreshing for portals to sometimes appear at one side of the map and then the first circle appear at the opposite side, making most of the players have to run from the storm WHILE fighting each other. This would also make it more raw mind-game of claiming the most unpopulated and lootable area for yourself.)

A lot of fair points you've shared. The circles, portals and balance with all of this is something we are aware of and continue to have discussions around. I cannot promise anything but do know we are looking into these (and more).
