I don't think that is likely, but I will say we are taking what we've learned and building on it. If you like Splitgate, you will love our next game!

Would you ever be interested in doing a crossover with Halo?

I would love to see the portal mechanic in Halo Infinite and the Spartan armour available as a cosmetic in Splitgate.

If feels like the game had a lot of inspiration from Halo, my favourite series. Congrats on your success so far also.

I think we are trying to move away from the Halo comparisons while staying true to what makes Splitgate special. That said, we are of course fans of Halo and would not be opposed to a potential crossover in the future.

Will cosmetics transfer to the next game

Still figuring out what we can and can't do but we of course want to do right by our existing fans. Skins will not be able to transfer though because the new game will be all new stuff! More info here: https://www.splitgate.com/faq

What will happen with the MVP program? What would be an incentive to join the program at this point in time? Are you currently accepting applications for the MVP program?Thank you!

The MVP program is here to stay! If anything, it is more important than ever because the MVPs and community are what will keep the game staying strong going forward until the next game comes out. Yes, we are accepting applications still.

can we expect to see a griddy emote in the next game mocapped by cardi soldier himself?

will the september update fix the ingame hand textures not matching the model textures on skins like Shogun, Sable, Misty and Peppermint Bard? please tell me the red patches are fixed

We are actively looking into abyss performance. No guarantees it will get improved but we do have some ideas as to what is causing it to have worse performance for some people.

LOL ;)

September update will not fix hand textures not matching, but we do have a number of other fixes coming.

Two questions:

  • You've mentioned several times that you went on a hiring spree since last year's investment. How many of you are there now?

  • You mentioned in the town hall that you want to be the "next Apex, or even Fortnite". Does this mean a likely departure from the arena shooter genre?

Edit: Third question: Was the town hall recorded and will it be available to watch/listen to later on?

  1. we just hit 100 members on the team last week!
  2. I meant that in the sense of playerbase and our ambitions, not the genre.
  3. No, unfortunately it was not unless someone in the chat recorded it. Most questions are answered here though: https://www.splitgate.com/faq

Roughly when should we expect a new project from 1047 and will you guys find a publisher this time or stay independent again?

Thanks for the questions Arrrash! The new project timeline is still being finalized but the game will not release in 2023.

Most likely independent. We've got our own great marketing and PR team :)

When will this new game be ready? Can you give us a rough estimation?

We have very ambitious goals for the new game and it is a massive undertaking. Timing is still being finalized, but don't expect it to come out in 2023.

Nothing to share at the moment but I will say if you like Splitgate, you will love the new game!

SPS is here to stay for the remainder of 2022. 2023 is still up in the air, but we hope to have some form of esports and community events. Smaller updates after the 15th will contain bug fixes.

Along with more community maps being featured in matchmaking, will we see older maps be reintroduced into the current game? The blocktober maps comes to mind, and though they were not polished high quality graphics, it would add to the variety of maps available to play.

No current plans at the moment beyond custom maps

What will happen to the current system of “drops” in splitgate? Currently it’s a reward system for completing challenges… in the past it was also based on xp levels.

2 changes: 1. the new free infinite battlepass that goes live on the 15th will have drops unlocked every 5 levels after level 100. 2. duplicate drops will reward XP/splitcoin depending on the rarity.

Hey, thanks for answering my questions during the Town Hall. I'm back with more!

-You mentioned monetization isn't your current focus. Can you speak a little bit about 1047's vision when it comes to monetizing free-to-play games?

-I know you aren't at liberty to address certain things about the upcoming game, but can you mentioned the addition of lore--are we talking "here is a character and they have a backstory"-lore or "here is a character and they have a backstory that also plays a part in an overarching plot"-lore?

-What aspect of Splitgate are you most proud of?

-If you had to summarize your goals for the upcoming game in a single sentence, what would that sentence be?

Thanks for taking the time to answer so many questions from your players, and for continuing your tradition of transparency, integrity, and putting community health and quality game design above all else. I can't wait to see where Splitgate is heading.

  1. My focus is on making a game people love and want to play for a long time. If we do that, we will succeed.
  2. Not sure yet, but definitely lore will be a much bigger part of the next game.
  3. Splitgate is genuinely my favorite game of all time. I love a lot of games, but even to this day I spend more of my free time playing Splitgate for fun than any game out there. That is definitely something I'm quite proud of making.
  4. World domination.

Why did you guys keep saying in each new season that "this is just the first step" or in other videos claiming that "our real launch is going to be massive" only to leave the game months later.

I get you guys have your reasons and all, but from my point of view at least, stringing your community along like that and then expecting them to try out whatever new game you cook up is a bad look.

That was our original plan! But plans change. We truly believe this is the best approach for the future of Splitgate and its awesome community.

Assuming the current best skins/maps are going to be the new standard in the next game, what maps and skins are currently considered the best so we know what the next games standards will look like

I think Abyss is the best looking map in terms of quality but it isn't representative of the new style we want to go for. This is meant to be revolutionary, not evolutionary. One of the reasons we are moving onto Unreal Engine 5 for the new game is to give us the ability to make even better looking content.

How long has the new game been in development? Can it be expected within years (2024 or later) or within months (2022-2023)?

It's been something I have been thinking about privately for almost a year now, but most of the team officially started transitioning to the new game in early July. It's a big undertaking and will not release in 2022 or 2023.

Is it possible to make the blocktober maps avaliable for custom games?

Unfortunately not. It would be a major pain to try to release the old abyss which does not exist in our build.

Unlikely but maybe the map creator community could recreate some of them to be featured in a playlist?

First off Splitgate is one of the most fun games I've played in the last decade and probably the most thrilling since Titanfall 2. Hats off to you and your team for the excellent work you have put in.

I really enjoy the core gameplay of Splitgate and always hop on a few times a month but find myself enjoying the game more in short bursts now and again as opposed to being my main game. How do you plan on giving the future project increased staying power? I feel like the game has had issues with lengthy lull periods where there is simply not enough new content to keep players logging in daily.

Good luck to you and the team!

Thank you! No specific plans to share but know that this is our top priority. We've learned a lot from our current game and feel like we have a really good understanding/plan on how to address this.

Is this game gonna be an arena shooter or something else?

This feels like it’s a last minute decision. Is it?

This is literally Among Us 2. No guns, no portals. How did you know? :)

This will be a huge deciding factor in my choice to follow you to your next game. Please don't drop the ball. I have invested the last year of my gaming life and budget to Splitgate, and I know it may sound selfish but I feel betrayed hearing the news. Please don't forget who got you guys here. Good Luck and I really hope you made the right decision, we will be waiting...

Attended part of the Town hall but had another obligation so forgive me if these questions have been addressed/you're tired of answering them:

  • Will you continue the open beta model going forward or do you think the next entry in the Splitgate universe will be a closed/invite only beta? I only ask because I enjoyed being part of the development process as new things joined the game and felt like it helped knit a (small) but tight community.

  • I've seen a number of worried fans (myself included) fearing that the game direction will go from team based arena to Battle Royale free for all like many shooters have, is this something the community should be concerned about?

I'm a fantasy RPG guy, never really been into PvP type games or shooters. I didn't start playing Splitgate before Season 0, but this is the only shooter I've actually enjoyed and the announcement actually made me quite sad as I make it a point to play daily and would get excited about new feature announcements. I look forward to seeing what the team comes up with next though, hope it fits the dream you folks are arriving towards~

  1. Not sure yet on our exact role out plan, but there will almost certainly be a beta of some kind before launch.
  2. I've seen a lot of questions about Battle Royale, Tac Shooter, Arcade Shooter, Campaign, etc. We aren't ready to announce anything beyond what we already have announced, but I think if you like Splitgate, you will love our next game. It's made by Splitgate fans. We aren't going to make something we don't love.

Do you feel that ending development on Splitgate to focus on creating a new game was inevitable? If not, what would you and the team have done differently, and what lessons have you learned that you'd share with aspiring game creators?

I think there are some things we could have done differently that would have delayed the inevitable but there's just no way we could have predicted how last summer would have went. We will be much better prepared next time around.
