Overall enjoying Stationeers, but having already exhausted most of the gameplay "loop" I'd like to be able to create my own content. Having sifted through the modding guides and taken a look at the Data folder of available xml files to make changes to, it's very lacking.

Some things to start with that quickly killed my desire to mod for this game include:

-Unable to change power settings for anything that isn't a "recipe" in one of the fabrication machines
-Cannot fiddle with generator settings and output powers (The turbine generator would make for more interesting gameplay but at 90W it's pretty useless)
-Zero options for gas modding
-Can't remove recipes from fabrication machines, only change them

There are already some options for Ores and world settings, and those are robust enough to make some interesting presets. But so much of the content behind this game is hard coded, and rather unbalanced at that. It would be a good step forward to give the players more tools to create content.

If you make us a list like this, a lot of it is super-easy to expose to XML modding. I think machine energy consumption might already be there. For stuff like generator output, it's just a case of us adding a new 'moddable' parameter called PowerOutput or something and adding a couple of lines to overwrite the hardcoded value with any present mod one at runtime.
