142s response to our earliest preala test was

151s storm we're kicking off early access
153s with the first few chapters of an epic
155s sweeping campaign that will allow you to
157s experience the story of stormgate either
159s Solo or cooperatively with your
163s friends as an extension to our universe
165s we're building an expanding roster of
168s Hero characters that you can use in the
170s single player campaign or Co-op as
172s you're exploring the story but that you
174s can also lead into battle in the three
177s versus AI Cooperative mode or in the 3v3
181s team mode that we're building after
182s Early Access we're then taking the
185s technology and the tools that we've used
186s to build all of these modes and we're
189s bundling them up to release to you so

208s lead campaign designer on workcraft 3
210s and The Frozen Throne where I
212s contributed to some of the Epic chapters

215s history together with the designers here

220s neelen a multiple award-winning
222s best-selling author who helped
224s contribute to Warcraft and Starcraft
226s working over 23 years at blizzard on
227s those franchises additionally early on
230s WE partnered with Chris Metson himself
232s the war chief and one of the key
234s creatives who came up with the vision
236s for Warcraft and Starcraft
238s originally together we've created a
240s framework for storytelling that's going
242s to enable us to tell an ongoing
244s narrative for years to
246s come so let me tell you a little bit
248s about the universe of stormgate we're
250s bringing together some of the best
251s elements of both fantasy and sci-fi into
254s a new post-apocalyptic setting we're at
257s set in the near future inside the midst
259s of this apocalypse where an alien race
263s of infernal demonic Invaders has swept
266s into the world and destroyed
267s civilization as we know it subjugating
269s all of humanity and in the middle of
271s this we mix together post-apocalyptic
274s settings with survivors and Rag teag
276s militias and Marauders and all these
278s desperate circumstances along with hard
281s sci-fi elements like battl mechs and
283s spaceships and
285s cybernetics and then we introduce
287s through the others these fantasy
289s elements with dark magic and sorcery and
292s rituals at the end of the day what we
294s really want to do is be able to have a
296s Mech punch of
298s dragon hi I had the pleasure of working
301s on the Starcraft 2 version of Co-op and
303s it was a mode that I love dearly we see
305s storm Gates highly replayable
308s three-player co-op mode as an evolution
310s of that mode in which there are even
312s more replayable missions um there are
314s more opportunities to cooperate in
316s addition enemies will be more varied
318s there will be more Dynamic occurrences
320s in every given map one of our primary
323s design goals with stormgate Co-op is
325s that it'll be a new experience every
327s time you play a large part of what makes
330s stormgate Co-op very exciting is the
332s heroes that we have planned for you all
334s a stormgate hero is not only just a unit
336s on the battlefield it's also a brand new
339s array of global abilities you can use
341s anywhere on the map and new units that
344s are very specific to the hero itself
347s let's take our first Co-op hero blockade
349s from the Vanguard
351s faction blockade is known for being a
354s resilient fighter supporting his
355s teammates with heals and Buffs but
358s blockade is not just about defense
360s as one of the most grizzled fighters in
362s the Vanguard Army he'll be able to jump
364s into the battlefield and swing his
366s hammer around to strike fear into
368s enemies and in a pinch he'll be able to
370s help his allies from across the map with
372s his ability to teleport not only himself
375s but his units across the
377s battlefield co-op in stormgate is really
380s a mode for everyone and we can't wait
382s for you to
385s try for more than 20 years realtime
388s strategy games have been a leader in the
389s world world of Competitive Gaming the
391s stormgate we want it to be easier than
393s ever to compete our goal is to reduce
395s the points of friction to enter events
397s and play with your friends find out who
399s the best player in your school in your
401s town in your city is if you follow a
404s content creator if you're part of an
405s online community we want you to be able
407s to play with your friends and other
409s people in that same group we want you to
411s be able to spin up a tournament and just
412s be competing immediately and removing
414s any obstacles that prevent you from
415s doing that at Frost giant we see
418s competition as more than just east
419s Sports it's about Community it's about
422s empowering and facilitating the
424s community to do what they love and to
426s let them do what they want to do without
428s dictating it to them from the top just
430s so much damage over time on The High
432s Ground here G trying to snowball but
433s they're just going to take a massive
435s shot we've already gotten the game into
436s the hands of some of the most skilled
438s players in the world and the results
439s have been phenomenal it's been fun to
441s watch it's been super interesting to
442s play and it's been incredibly exciting
444s to
446s see the RTS genre has a long and
449s glorious history with editors being
451s released to the community we've seen
453s entire new genres spring out of the
455s warcraft editor for example with Tower
457s Defense and mobas that started out as
460s RTS mods and maps and then grow into
463s entire new genres that have dominated
465s the gaming industry we aimed to continue
468s that tradition our team worked directly
469s on the editors for Warcraft and for
472s Starcraft we built content with them and
474s we actually help build the tools
476s themselves we're rolling all of that
478s knowledge and experience in into the
480s tools for stormgate to release to you
483s one of the powerful new Innovations
485s we've done is that the editor and the
486s tools are not a separate client they're
488s built directly into the game itself so
489s with the Press of a button you can
491s switch between gaml and editing mode in
494s order to make it fast and a tight Loop
496s to be able to create and test your own
497s content these tools will be usable to
500s build mods they'll be used to make maps
502s and tell your own stories and build your
504s own
505s campaigns our four C's the campaign the
509s co-op the custom games and of course the
512s competitive gameplay are at the heart
514s and soul of what we're building here so
517s why are we doing a Kickstarter we felt
519s that this was the best way to give the
521s community what they were asking for
523s we've received a lot of requests for
524s physical merchandise also we've received
526s an overwhelming number of requests for
529s how players can get into the Beta online
531s multiplayer testing is really expensive
534s and we haven't made any money to dat yet
537s through Kickstarter we can expand the
539s beta pool and allow more players to get
541s into the game while supporting
543s stormgate one of the great things about
545s Kickstarter is it allows us to deliver a
548s stormgate physical collector's edition
550s Vulcan online the Vulcan Mech is one of
553s the defining units of the Vanguard Army
556s and we decided to make the Vulcan Mech
558s the centerpiece of our collector's
560s edition here you see a fully painted
