3s and I'm pleased to bring you a
4s development update about our progress on
5s stormgate as well as some information
7s about our very next patch which is
9s coming right up the vast majority of our
11s team has been heavily focused on some
12s really big Endeavors in particular we've
15s rolled up our sleeves on are in the
16s middle of a top to bottom overhaul of
18s the first two campaign chapters that
19s were launched at Early Access we're
21s going to share more about this in the
22s near future but effectively we're
25s tackling all the things including a full
27s roster of updated character models
29s revisiting Mission Scripts and
31s re-recording vo even overhauling the
33s terrain and the mission objectives in
35s them additionally we've been hard at
36s work on team Mayhem our upcoming 3v3
39s team-based competitive mode that I am
41s super excited about it's entering closed
43s Alpha Testing at this stage so it's
45s something that we be sharing more about
47s and rolling out to everyone as soon as
49s we can in the near future we're also in
51s the early stages of a refinement pass
53s through storm Gates art and audio where
55s we go top to bottom through the game
56s experience to iterate improve and polish
59s it for you
61s this is a big effort and it's something
62s we're going to be sharing more about in
63s the weeks ahead but I couldn't be more
65s excited about it in the meantime our
67s October patches here so let's dive in
71s our team has been actively working to
72s better optimize the game and this update
75s brings several performance improvements
77s first up we fixed some of the stability
79s and performance issues we had with
81s direct X12 and have made this the new
83s default mode if your Hardware can
84s support it we've seen increases in
86s direct X12 frames per second by up to
89s 50% on some of our Hardware
90s configurations in local
93s testing in general direct X12 better
96s utilizes your GPU and stormgate supports
98s nvidia's dlss three features such as
101s super resolution frame generation and
103s Nvidia reflex with supported Hardware
106s we've also been focused on performance
108s improvements for late game scenarios and
110s lower spec Hardware where we've been
112s generally CPU Bound in the past these
115s optimizations should help alleviate
117s input lag in many of those situations
121s our roll back implementation is also
123s more Dynamic roll back improves
126s responsiveness but at the expense of an
128s extra tax on the CPU so now roll back
131s will not be active if there isn't enough
132s CPU headro to support it we'd love to
135s hear if you feel the difference or
138s not next up this patch also includes
140s some changes aimed at improving hero
142s progression in our Cooperative 3v a mode
146s our gear system in general was something
148s that a lot of players didn't even
149s realize was available able to them in
151s Co-op but was super exciting once they
152s found it unlocked at level 11 in order
155s to make this more visible the first two
157s gear slots will now unlock at hero
159s levels 6 and 11 and a sixth piece of
162s gear has been added to each hero also
166s when you return to the co-op character
167s select screen after playing a scenario
170s you will now keep your previously
171s selected hero highlighted so that you
173s can quickly continue playing without
175s miscuing as the wrong character this is
177s just the start there's a lot more on the
179s way for Co op to continue making this
181s mode as fun and approachable as
184s possible we've also made several
186s improvements to the core systems and
187s gameplay experience one big quality of
190s life Edition is our new Range indicator
192s system this feature enables abilities or
195s attacks to visually preview how far they
197s can reach so that you can use them more
199s effectively in
201s combat this is especially useful preg
203s units such as the atlas or
206s hellbo as well as hero
209s abilities we've also taken our first
211s step towards Target validation which is
213s a new feature that will enable us to
215s provide clear feedback about when and
217s why you might not be able to perform an
219s action in game one part of this is that
222s your mouse cursor will now change when
224s you use a unit's ability to reflect
226s whether or not your target is
228s valid we've added a mission restart
231s button in campaign so that you can have
232s an easier time restarting on those
234s harder difficulties some new options for
236s team color displays are also now
238s available here's how they work
240s standard colors are assigned based on
242s the player slot so in versus player one
245s is always blue player two is always red
249s and in a team 2v2 game you might spawn
251s in it as the warm color set or the cool
254s color
256s set cool versus warm assigns you the
259s cool set of colors and your enemies the
261s warm set of colors and friend versus
264s faux colors are designed to help battle
266s readability by making your enemies
268s appear red regardless of what player
270s slot they're in in Co-op and team games
273s there can be multiple enemy players so
275s this unifies their colors to make it
277s easier to identify the bad
279s guys for the Halloween season we're
281s giving away two free Cosmetics as a
284s thank you to everyone who is
285s participating in Early Access and
287s helping us to polish and refine

291s War treatment where Restless Spirits
293s haunt the edges of your
295s vision and Shutterfly a ghastly moth pet
