TL,DR: luma hunting is boring, repetitive, incentives botting and would benefit on a change in metodology.

Apologies for the clickbait title, but i wish to discuss how luma farming currently works.

Right now the luma rate is base 1/8000 and completely dependant on rng, you know the tem is a luma the moment you enter the battle and continuing the battle gives you no advantage in regards to your luma, only a disadvantage because you lose time that could be spent running another battle. This all means that the best strategy to catch a luma is running away and disengaging all battles untill rng blesses you, suffice to say, that is NOT an engaging system.

Now, i understand the crema team wishes to keep lumas rare and while I personally don't think we need that, such is not the problem I am bringing attention to here. Luma temtem can be rare as long as the method to catch it is engaging.

However, the current system not only values a repetitive set of actions with no clear reward on sight, but it is also unfair since it rewards luck, and not effort, especially since the amount of effort expected to acquire such temtem is so high.

I understand this game is currently in early access, that it will develop and that new game systems will arrive in the future but all that bears no relevance in the way we hunt lumas currently. Luma hunting shows to be a completed game system by the lack of mentions on its roadmap and the entire economy of saipark seems to function around it (especially considering the lack of popularity on min sv tems). The feedback I am giving is also relevant to the playerbase right now and the whole point of an early acess game is to provide feedback on how it is developing.

I am not here to provide an alternative to the current method of farm, guided rng seems to be unpopular by what i saw on other threads and I have not seen anything else. However if the game requires to be played on the background while the player focuses on a show or something else in order to be rewarded then your game has a problem.

to sumarize, I believe that the way we farm lumas right now will cause burnout on a big part of the playerbase and diminish the number of players on the long run. An alternative should be in order, even if it the current system remains. what do you think?

Lumas are an optional activity. If you don't enjoy hunting them that's totally OK, you don't need to do it. I agree it's a boring activity and that's why I (as a player) don't do it (or didn't do it ever on any Pokémon game).

However, if you have a suggestion to make it a more interesting activity while keeping the current rarity of them, I'm all ears!
