[2021] How "alive" do you think Digital Temtem are?

I'm writing a fanfic about wild Temtem, and one chapter will be about the invasive Digital Temtem in Cipanku. I'd need to establish a baseline for how "alive" they are - for example, a detail in this chapter is that Halzhi needs to eat. We know from the Tempedia that Molgu have been found evolving in the wild (what kind of evolution isn't made clear), that Chromeon was made from Koish DNA, and that Loatle isn't quite natural or artificial, so they clearly aren't just machines.
