There's a lot more to marketing than giving dates. And even so, on marketing terms, providing dates and having them fail is shooting yourself on the foot. I don't think there's a lack of communication when we did announce a release window and we're teasing things all the time. Discord is full of dev talk. We just cannot give a closed date until we get an okay from 3rd parties, so out of our control.
I'm sad you didn't like my jokes, but there were actual teasers in there, and humor is subjective.
