I bought Terraria on my Switch recently (I’ve already played hundreds of hours on PC, but I wanted a portable version).

Long story short, it’s been great fun so far, and I’m about 20 hours in, BUT, I’ve just encountered a very frustrating issue. I’ve finally made the journey to the edge of my (large-sized) map, and whenever I reach the halfway point of the ocean (thereabouts) at the edge of the map, the game crashes.

Just a straight up, ‘game closed due to unknown error’ crash, and when I start the game back up again and reach the same point, it crashes again. It’s not a storage issue or whatever, because there’s plenty of space left on my micro-SD card.

Is this a known issue, and something they’re actively working on? Or is this some sort of rare thing that I’m getting very unlucky with. I have never encountered anything like this on the PC version.

Please let me know what’s going on here! Thanks.

Finally nailed down the reproduction steps on this I think. Sent those along to Pipeworks.

Also, it appears that if you zoom all the way out, the "ocean edge crash" does not trigger. So, try zooming all the way out when you are in the ocean/near the ocean until a fix can arrive. Hope that helps!
