You heard right, everyone - Terraria has officially entered its teenage years. Don't worry, we promise that we won't be any more moody and rebellious than we always have been! This time of the year is always special to the Terraria development team. It is a time of celebration, but moreso a time of reflection: on the journey we have taken thus far, what is coming soon, and what may lie ahead beyond that horizon. It is humbling to know that our small team has been able...

Greetings Terrarians!

Spring is finally here - and with it, warmer weather, green plants, and colorful flowers. We noticed lots of speculation that spring would bring the release of 1.4.5 - sorry to say that those guesses were incorrect. The team still has quite a few things that we want to get to, and you never know what else might come up. Terraria development has always been sort of organic in that way. Rest assured that we share your desire to get this out just...

We have heard the Terraria Community's cries to bring back the versions of Terraria from long long ago for many years now. Frankly, we appreciate the nostalgia as much as anyone, but to say that the daunting task of trying to remove 13 years of content from the game has held us back from doing so would be a massive understatement!

That being said, we are pleased to share with you all that starting today, the Terraria Undeluxe Edition is available for fans everywhere to enjoy...

It is a time of celebration, but moreso a time of reflection: on the journey we have taken thus far, what is coming soon, and what may lie ahead beyond that horizon. It is humbling to know that our small team has been able to release and support a game as successful as Terraria for all these years.

Even more humbling is the unwavering support that each of you have shown us throughout those thirteen years. Through the ups and downs that game dev and even life has thrown at us - and all of you - your support has been the one constant that we know we can rely on each and every day. In fact. we appreciate you so muc... Read more

u/redigit word of advice, add a description to each selection in the menu dude, nobody knows what “expert” or “master” means when they just start playing the game. Sorry not sorry. Make it happen. Now.

Edit: It wasn’t obvious but I’m joking! Sorry Red. I’m not back tracking I’m serious I was just kidding as you can by making rushed demands to the literal creator of the game! My bad if I upset you red

I’ve been pinged twice today over this and I can’t tell if you guys are trying to mess with me. We’ve had tooltips since we added the creation screen

Just assume going into the darkness will end your run. Pay attention and invest heavily into your herb farm until you have dangersense potions to spare, and then never worry about traps again.

as the creator of terraria, do you find hardcore hard?

It’s funny because I feel like I of all people should be better at the game, but since there is no real penalty for death I am highly reckless. So when it comes to hardcore I have to completely relearn how to play the game.

The furthest I have got is expert plantera. I really want to try at it more but I’m just so busy with all the other stuff we have going on. Someday!

Part of the strategy for my last hardcore run was to get the painter asap and grind him for it. It’s pretty decent if you get it early enough

Team A. I want that Paintball Gun

It's because picnic tables occupy a 4 wide space but only have a 2 wide flat area, and they didn't want to let you place things "floating".

However there's a trick with Teleporters, where placing one on top of each other, then placing a piece of furniture, then breaking the bottom Teleporter leaves the piece of furniture floating and you can place nearly anything under it

Pretty much this. We could fix it, but I don’t think it’s the best use of dev time for just this 1 object

We would have to see if there is enough demand for it

I hope their AI reflects that orcas dont generally attack people in the wild. Should be neutral until provoked and then it may proceed to go absolute ham and call in a pod to f**k you up.
