[2020] Why is 95% of targeted loot purple in challenging?

Hey everyone,

Purple loot should not drop from NPCs at Challenging or higher difficulties. If you're experiencing any NPC loot drops that are purple, please report them to us with screenshots/videos. I can see already you did here, so keep doing this so that we can forward this to the devs.

Containers in the open world and in mission can drop purple loot quality, as the containers do not check the difficulty and are also more of a bonus.
While we can look to make changes in the future for this, we don't want it to be the best way to farm loot by identifying which missions have the most containers.

And please, do not change containers in the open world. All this leads to is people just going out of their way not playing the game and just opening crates and containers on higher difficulties. Leave them as is as a bonus.

That's exactly what we do indeed when we ask you to provide videos/screenshots of the issue, with the right context.

So, if you show us "I beat this boss in this mission, Heroic difficulty and he dropped a purple", we take the exact comment and we forward it to the team. Furthermore, we constantly provide feedback based on your comments, even if we don't specifically jump in the threads confirming you we did.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, apologies for that.
