They don't allow us to have 'Assault' as a class name (because it contains the word 'Ass'). They do this, presumably, to protect our innocence.

Thanks Massive. You're good guys.

...but they are entirely happy for enemy factions to swear at us pretty much non-stop during missions.

I'm a grown man and I don't need an 18+ certificate rating game to censor what I want to name my loadouts.

Remove the double standard Massive. Come on..

(PS: for anyone thinking I'm actually offended, I'm not. I'm pointing out the contradiction that they protect us from ourselves but are entirely happy for the game audio to contain all sorts of swears)

This is something that we probably won't be able to change. It's somewhat silly in a lot of cases and then needed in others. From what I understand we don't have the full control over all the lists that control these words (take that with a grain of salt, I only had a couple of conversations here and I don't mean that to blame other teams outside of Massive).

In the end a couple of bad apples will always ruin the fun (or the normality) of the majority. We'll talk more with the teams here internally if we can make some of these restrictions a little less weird.

Lastly I just want to say that it is different if somebody you're chatting with is throwing offensive words at you or if it's a NPC, so the mature language filter does make sense.

Honestly the bad apples here is massive for being so over the top PC. Just grow a pair. It’s an 18+ game. Hiding behind a lame excuse that you can’t change it is bullshit. You are the creators.

And as the creators we have the responsibility to make sure players can still feel safe or at least have the option to make it feel as safe as they can. You might think growing a pair is equivalent of not wanting to deal with such nonsense but it's not.
