[2021] can't get past the start menu on PS4

alright.

installed + updated last night, played about an hour absolutely no sweat. tried to get on today, everything loaded up fine, all the epilepsy warnings, then "press x to start" and nothing. i'm pressing x, holding x, mashing x, nothing. won't go through. the game hasn't crashed cause the music's playing and the background's moving around, it just won't get past the "press x to start" menu.

i've tried taking the disk out and putting it back in, resetting my PS4 AND deleting + reinstalling and nothing. it's not a faulty disk cause i was playing last night and my ps4's fine. does it just take ages to get through sometimes?
