SEE BELOW FOR UPDATES - POSSIBLE WORKAROUND

So this started today. I activate my drone or shield (haven't tested others, this happens with all variants) and within two seconds, the skill disappears and I have a 15 second cooldown.

This is not holding down the skill to dismantle and trigger the shorter cooldown. This is -always- a 15 second cooldown, and it makes most skills (with any kind of duration in the world) unusable.

It happens even when all I do is activate the skill, and then touch absolutely nothing. The drone (example) takes flight, explodes a second later, and then 15 second cooldown. This happens everywhere, inside and outside of combat - it has nothing to do with being hit by enemies.

Definitely wasn't happening prior to this patch. Anyone figure out a workaround for this? It's making many skills (especially the ones I've unlocked so far) completely useless.

EDIT 1 - In trying to reliably reproduce this, I stumbled upon so not-so-good news, a brand new character I watched a friend made is experiencing this, it started happening within the first few skill activations.

That's not bad or good - it likely means that this is a bug with skills and isn't dependent on gear, SHD unlocks, etc. Literally a character being made as freshly as possible is experiencing it. The problem is likely something with skills themselves, not anything we control.

That being said, if anyone finds a weird work-around to reduce or remove this problem (even temporarily for a mission or fast travel) please let us know here ASAP so I can add it up top. Thanks and here's hoping this sh*t'll get fixed soon.

EDIT 2 - This has nothing to do with combat, damage, the deployables being destroyed, or cooldowns being "saved" if you activate them out of combat. To very simply illustrate this, the bug happens when utilizing the shield as well, which has no deployable duration and can be toggled inside and outside of combat infinitely (when it's working).

EDIT 3 - Make sure you bug report this so it gets fixed ASAP. It's unlikely they haven't noticed this issue yet, but just in case click here to report it. It's the same link as the Bug reports section on the right, just here for convenience.

I usually wouldn't advocate bombarding help with tickets at launch, but this literally invalidates huge forms of gameplay and is something that needed to not find its way into a launch-day build.

EDIT 4, POSSIBLE WORKAROUND

A quick recap for newer folks - This affects all skills except pulse, chem launcher and firefly. What happens is you activate the skill and (as an example) the drone takes flight, and a moment later explodes triggering a 15 second cooldown.

You need to remove any armor, including mods, that affect skill cooldowns and durations. I can trigger this bug on command with +29%> CDR on skills. However, removing that CDR doesn't always fix the bug.

When you're tinkering while trying to fix this, remember to session change frequently. For the non-IT folks, fast travel, or quickly relog, after removing all your skill cooldown sh*t to force the game to update your character (it should be doing this automatically when you remove the armor, this is a just in case step).

Good luck suffering through this agents! If I can recommend something for fellow solo players, get the chem launcher healing grenade. It has 3 charges, refreshes 1/2 your ammo, and has a 19s cooldown. It's basically constant, instant-cast healing (just tap the skill to drop the grenade on you, no need to launch it at yourself).

There's a ton of responses here now and I can't read them all. Please message me directly if you figure out any tangible workaround/prevention for this. I will add it here.
