[2019] crafting bench upgrade

so im currently on WT1 and im trying to get my GS up for the stronghold, i was going to do so via crafting but i can only make greens, i heard you can upgrade your crafting station but i have no such option so im just wondering how. i feel like its probably from a side mission but after looking at the rewards i cant see anything about it so any help would be appreciated
