Currently Sawyer's Kneepads do not protect you from stagger when the explosion is from a boss's abilities. This includes the sticky bomb for Weasel of Dark Hours, seekers and mines for Buddy/Lucy of Dark Hours, the rocket from Razorback, Rogue Agents, a couple of bosses that use explosions, and a couple of the effects of the final boss fight for the new raid.

This is extremely frustrating as it negates the purpose of the talent in the first place and gets rid of the damage buff stacks you had. This makes me not want to even bother bringing Sawyer's Kneepads for the endgame content. Please fix this so it makes them more usable.

While on the subject of Sawyer's Kneepads, I also have an idea for a buff to them (as I feel they still need one). It would allow for quick/small adjustments to cover or other small adjustments. It will also make the piece even more appealing to red builds if the attribute is changed. My idea is that an addition to the talent that reads similar to this:

Change Health attribute to Weapon Handling or Headshot Damage

Stand Your Ground

Cannot be staggered by explosions. (unchanged)

When not moving, you fill the charge bar. To fill the charge bar up all the way, you must be not moving for 10 seconds. Every second of moving decrease the charge bar by 2 seconds. When the charge bar is fully filled, you gain stacks of 3% weapon damage every second up to 30%. All stacks are lost when the charge bar is empty.

Thanks for the detailed information on this. If you're easily able, could you please record a video of this happening, especially with any of the Raid bosses (Iron Horse or Dark Hours)?

When you get staggered with the Exotic equipped, are you taking damage as well?

You know, 1 of your QA team could do it in like 10 minutes, as the reproduction is fairly simple.

Just saying...

Good job on the raid overall though!

Just to be thorough - this is happening with the level 40 version of the Kneepads, correct?
