Hey gang,

I haven't seen any official communication about this; so just treat this as an "un"-official communication (despite the fact I work at massive).

We've suffered a really weird and catastrophic hardware failure during last night which managed to hurt our infrastructure in -just- the right way as to cause minor data loss.

At this time we're trying our best to restore the data we have to a working site while attempting to debug what happened.

For the technical among you: Our databases storing certain account data have a binary-log volume, an OS volume and a "data" volume. All drives on the "data" volume, which is a raid-10 became failed (within 2s of each other), we failed over but the same exact thing happened 6hrs later on the backup machine.

Our third machine was not correctly replicating after the failover (it was still trying to replicate from the first instance) and it was not caught due to being 2:30/3am- We have a backup from the initial machine failure, so our previous "working set" of this account data is 1:44am. (Information such as uplay-account ID's, internal accounts ID's leaderboard progression and so-on)

Character progression is not harmed except for brand new characters that were made after 01:44am (CET) last night. Meaning if you picked something up in the darkzone before the servers died, you'll still have it.

P.S: don't plan on playing today. It will take us some time to fix this.

Hey everybody. We're investigating the root of this issue and have people coming in to resolve this as soon as we can. I also posted a "maintenance" thread on the forums for updates: https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthread.php/2188693-The-Division-servers-not-available-for-Xbox-players
