I'm running out of storage space on my PS4 and since PS5's cost an arm and a leg $750 aud and are unobtainable here at the moment I'm considering getting an SSD with one of those USB to Sata adapters. According to what I have read and youtube videos the USB route has much faster load times than if it's installed internally and is much easier. You can easily transfer games from the internal drive to the external USB via the PS4 menu.

So my question is has anyone tried this with The Division 2 and will it greatly improve my loading times? I know it won't change graphics or game play but it takes over a minute now to "fast travel" from anywhere to the BoO, not to mention booting up the game and loading times during missions like when you get in an elevator or fast travel to a CP or mission.

I can always use the SSD later on in my PC if I buy a PS5.

I don't play Division 2 on PS4, but the games I do own on PS4 digitally all go onto an external SSD and I noticed it did help with the loading times, so it may be worth the investment if you can't get your hands on a PS5.
