[2020] Twitch mobile - streamer name pops up and stays

For months now i have been trying to find a fix for this. No matter who's stream without fail in less than a minute the bottom bar with the streamers name/ viewer count/sub pops up and stays permanently until i touch somewhere on the stream. Only happens in fullscreen. Same thing happens when i use samsung dex to project to a monitor i have to click constantly. I have a samsung galaxy s9 i formatted my phone and freshly installed the twitch app and it still happens . I have searched everywhere and only found 1 reddit post from a year ago that was kind of the same but never mentioned a fix.

Thanks for the report. We have reproduced the issue and hopefully we'll have a fix for it in January.

In the battery stats it shows that is actually Google Services, but this happens only with Twitch. Other apps with Chromecast doesn't do this. Also, if you force stop the Twitch app, it stops the battery drain.

We haven't done any releases in Jan yet. The first is scheduled to be submitted next week. I'll reply here if the fix made it.

Sorry. I meant to update this on Monday. We submitted the app on Friday but the fix didn't make it on time. I'll check on Monday and confirm if it can make it for the next one.

Apologies for the slow fix, there was a significant backlog of items for the first release of the year.

Just to clarify, the team is looking into the issue but the fix is not ready and tested yet, so I'll take another release at least.
