The 2019 Arena World Championship Summer Finals is nearly here. Teams from all across America and Europe have battled over two seasons for their chance to qualify for the AWC Global Finals—an event every top Arena competitor aspires to attend. There are only two ways to qualify at this point in the year, being the first AWC Point earner from your region or placing first or second at the Summer Finals.

Everything these teams have worked for all comes down to this event and the points they’ve earned in the Summer Season will award them seeding into the following bracket. There are various modes of mass transit available to those looking to get around Azeroth. While can gain access to a mount at level 40, collecting enough gold to train the skill and purchase a mount can be an endeavor. We’ve surveyed a number of Masters Qualifier players to get a better understanding of pain points in the current structure of the program. Today, we’re ready to share the changes we’ll be making to improve Masters Qualifiers and Masters Tour events. The adjustments outlined here will be implemented on October 1 and are explained in more detail below.

Masters Qualifiers and Ladder

• Masters Tour Qualifiers will use the Conquest, best-of-three, 3 decks with a ban format.
• Masters Qualifiers will be expanded to a maximum capacity of 512 players.
• To reduce tournament lengths, we will be changing all Masters Qualifiers to single elimination.
• If a player makes Top 8 at least six times in a qualifying season currently, they will earn an invite. To make this qualification path easier, we’re reducing this number down to five.
• We will be going back to only awarding the first-place competitor in Masters Qualifiers...

Junkrat

Overview:

The wildly destructive Jamison Fawkes (A.K.A. Junkrat) is one of the most popular Overwatch Heroes in the roster. While he is consistently represented in the meta, we feel like his talent diversity is less than ideal. This update is our opportunity to create more interactive and interesting talent and Heroic options while ensuring he remains the manic hyper-carry he’s always been. Our primary focus with these changes is to increase the power of his less popular build paths, remove unnecessary talents, and round out his other builds to be on par with Frag Launcher. Armed with some new toys, this deranged demolitionist is ready to rain havoc and bedlam on the battlefield!

New Talents:

Playing with friends when your characters are different levels is now easier than ever with Party Sync.

If you’d like to play WoW with your friends without having to worry about whether your characters’ levels are too far apart, the new Party Sync feature is for you!

Relive Azeroth’s History Together

When players activate Party Sync, everyone in the party becomes aligned to the same quest state and phase. By mousing over a quest in your tracker, you can see who’s on a given quest, what their progress is, and who’s ready to turn it in. You’ll also have access to a “replay quest” feature that allows players who have already completed certain quests to replay them with friends who haven’t for rewards that are appropriate to their current actual level, regardless of the original level of the quest. Quests can be replayed for rewards once a day.
