PS: I have this "haircut" for 22 years now, it started when I served in the military. I shaved every other day since then - 4,000+ times. 😂

This behavior is never OK or acceptable. If you think it is, good luck in work life. Criticize, provide feedback, challenge us. Every day of the week. If you are toxic you cross the line.

If your intention is to harass, hurt or bully online, don't expect that myself or anyone else will listen to you for more than a fleeting moment of clout. Fix the emptiness in yourself and be better. You won't get respect. You'll only get pity. 4/4

This also means that a.) most developers actively avoid (!) engaging with their communities and b.) companies have to provide mental health services for "customer" facing roles. 3/4

Staying motivated when you read posts like this isn't always easy, especially not for younger developers who take these at face value, while these mostly come from a place of frustration. Doesn't justify the behavior obviously. 2/4

Besides immature posts like this one from people who haven't learned the most important lessons in life, game developers including us are constantly bombarded with a range of animosity up to death threats. 1/4
