This week at Bungie, we’re celebrating Bungie Day!
This week we’re all about those good vibes. Bungie Day is our chance to celebrate our community and some of the ways you have put out as much good into the world as possible. From the story about the wildly popular puppers emote that made its debut a couple of weeks ago, to some of the most hilariously “bad” cosplays we’ve ever seen, this week is a breather. So, sit back, kick those (clean, please) shoes up, and enjoy the ride. Let’s get into it.

What Makes a Guardian a Guardian?

During last year's Bungie Day, we were celebrating thirty years of making game and put out a call for players to share amazing stories around playing our games. This year, we want to hear from you all again, but centered around your stories as Guardians.

So what are we looking for? We're as... Read more

There are a lot of reasons why we love the Bungie community as much as we do, but one of those reasons is how amazing you Guardians are when it comes to taking care of your own. There are so many players out there that are willing to help others. From dropping everything to help a New Light through this wonderous world to helping a PvP newbie make it to the Lighthouse for the first time in Trials of Osiris—there is a lot of kindness that we love to see. One such Guardian is a woman that has made such an impact that her community has advocated for her Community Focus almost daily, and after digging into what she brings to the Destiny 2 community, we understand why!
Meet Sarah, a.k.a. TheVertigoVixen, a Destiny 2 player that consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that those around her feel supported and get that full in-game experience. She’s an incredible voice of kindness and badassery, and because of that—we're just excited to dive in. So, without further ado, l... Read more

This week at Bungie, we’re prepping for even more Trials of Osiris, this time with the return of Freelance so that solo players can get their pew-pew on. We’ve also got more patch notes to go over, as well as some mental health resources because we know the Season of the Haunted storyline can get a wee bit hefty.

I don’t know about you all, but the Haunted storyline continues to hit us right in those feels. These are some heavy themes and players from all over the world have been sharing how the ongoing narrative has connected with them and their own stories. Because of that, we just want to make sure you are all OK, so if you would like any help when parsing through those feelings, we’ve listed some helpful resources for you further down in this TWAB. Use them or don’t, your choice but the option is there. Eyes up, Guardian, your mental health is important.     As mentioned, we’ve got some patch notes to go over, including which known issues are being tackle... Read more

Every game has a story to tell, a journey to take players through that—if done well—can inspire wonderful memories that last a lifetime. Unlike other storytelling mediums, the art of video games is an intricate interweaving of experiences, including psychological cues that are designed to entrance players and make them feel like they’re a part of the story. One way this is achieved is through the art of audio. And no, we aren’t just talking about the many incredible soundtracks out there, we’re talking about the oftentimes overlooked universe of audio design.

Here to explore this underbelly of creativity are a f... Read more

This week at Bungie, we’re prepping to make Saint-14 proud once more with this Season’s return of Trials of Osiris, showing off some nifty new ways to put your fashion spin on some beloved Exotics, and a deeper dive into recent airborne accuracy changes.
We’ve officially made it to week-three of Season of the Haunted. We’ve seen some growth, we’ve grinded some dungeons, and—if you’re like me—you bawled your eyes out over a certain character that rhymes with flow. Alongside a new story beat, players have had some more time to play around with Iron Banner’s Rift mode. While the team continues taking in the feedback on the latest reiteration of this PvP experience, Valus Forge needs some time to clock out and not rank up that overtime. This, of course, means it’s Saint-14's time to shine once more with Trials of Osiris, and he’s arriving bearing gifts of new armor and new weapons.
But first, let’s talk about one of the dominating conversations happening over t... Read more

After a nice little two-week break, we are back with another Community Focus. With so much talk about Mara Sov witnessing Crow’s struggles with his own Nightmare in Season of the Haunted, this particular Community Focus has comes at an interesting time. When I first saw this cosplayer’s Mara, my jaw dropped to the floor. From the beautiful craftsmanship of the costume itself to the incredibly expert makeup that gave her that coveted Awoken look, everything about her Destiny 2 cosplay journey has sucked me in. Hopefully, our community feels the same!
Meet Adrienne Fiore, a US-based cosplayer that makes me feel almost bad for being angry at Mara and her crafty manipulations. Whether you love her or hate her, she’s a boss, and Adrienne perfectly captured this character’s essence in a way we’re are excited to share.
So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
Adrienne, welcome! Super excited to chat with you and show our community some of your a... Read more

This week at Bungie, we dove deep into feedback about all of the exciting things that have been happening in the game. As we continue to conquer the Nightmares that Calus and his army have to throw at us, we’ve got some next steps to share about Solar 3.0, an updated known issues list for players to track with so many new things being introduced, and a special tribute to our community that we think you’ll find welcome.

The last week has been filled with dangers lurking at every corner. Whether it’s confronting our fears in the newest Duality dungeon or ... Read more

Before we begin today’s TWAB, we wanted to acknowledge the horrific events in Uvalde, TX, earlier this week. We are all shocked and saddened by this unprovoked madness and our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

It's our hope that games and supportive communities can provide respite, and we encourage everyone to prioritize their own mental health needs right now, whether that means gaining comfort from your hobbies or taking a break to focus on yourself and your loved ones. Take care of one another.
Finally, we also wanted to provide some resources to help with mental health:

And we’re back with another way to shout loud and proud right alongside the community with a brand-new Focus. We’ve had some pretty amazing spotlights through the years and today is no different. He’s an artist. He’s a streamer. He’s the funniest dude on TikTok (and least in my humble opinion), and you may already know him as the creator known as Ansonikage.

Whether you’re a part of his community or someone just looking for other Guardians to vibe with, let’s get right into it to talk about streaming, good people, and even a Destiny conspiracy theory or two.
Roll the clip!
First up, how the heck are ya?! Glad you could make it this week, I’m excited to dig a little deeper into that noggin of yours! But before we do that, go ahead and tell the community a little bit about yourself: What’s your story, who are you, why are you such a gift to TikTok? You know, the usual...

If you’ve been following our Community Focuses over on Bungie.net recently, you may have noticed that we’ve been down a delightful rabbit hole filled with epic cosplay creations from talented folks from around the world. Cosplay is a craft that is nothing short of impressive because of the pure love and passion that goes into every detail. The world of cosplay gives creatively passionate people a chance at becoming one with their favorite characters, and even allows them a chance to take a crack at putting their own spin on these expansive and phenomenal worlds. Destiny 2 cosplayers are no different, so we decided to celebrate this wonderful community by challenging nine epic cosplayers to put their spin on our very own Moth Mom: Savathûn.
You may remember one of our contenders, Lily Bean Cosplay, from ... Read more

This week at Bungie, we think it’s time we talk about Iron Banner, check out the new PvP Map, and introduce the Cosplay Cosmodrome. Trust us, it’s really cool.
Lord Saladin continues to s
how why he has the mettle to inspire the likes of people like Zavala. His inner strength has once more become a vital part of the evolving Destiny 2 narrative, and the team thought that it was high time that his Iron Banner event reflected his resurgence in the story. That, and Rift is back, baby, alongside a brand-new map! We also have a nifty new initiative we’re calling Cosplay Cosmodrome, and an update from our specialist team that has been digging deep into the pe... Read more

Every single Community Focus has mattered. Every single Guardian offers something unique to our community and this is our way of saying thank you for being a part of it. With our latest Community Focus, it’s going to get a little bit personal.
As a gamer with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - a nervous system disease that affects mobility, coordination, vision, and more - and a former journalist who has covered the ways the disabled perspective and the gaming industry intersect, I've always been deeply passionate about furthering accessibility within video games. For that reason, it is my immense pleasure to introduce Grant Stoner: a writer you might have seen in some of the biggest publications in the world, like IGN and Fanbyte, that has been loud and proud when it comes to educating this space on what it means to say, “gaming is for all.”

He's also a total beast when it comes to kickin' some foe butt in Destiny 2.
Grant! I'm exc... Read more

This week at Bungie, we’ve been heads down making sure Season 17 is poised to rock ‘n roll and recovering from that whopper of a TWAB last week. I’m not going to lie, I really struggled writing this, only because the previous one by DMG dropped lots of solid info about sandbox changes, weapon tweaks, and more. This TWAB will be less extensive, but we hope you enjoy what we’ve got lined up to talk about this week. That, and we still have a few surprises up that proverbial sleeve, but we want to keep some aspects of what is next under wraps. We don’t want to ruin the sur... Read more

In kindness and in good faith, one Twitch Mom takes the streaming world by storm while brainstorming some amazing ideas for the world of Destiny.
Part of the beauty of this ongoing Community Focus series is that it’s about celebrating everyone. The streamers, the crafters, the passionate players, the accessibility-drivers; every Guardian that makes up the Destiny 2 community has a little something special they bring to the world, and our latest spotlight is no exception. Meet Dee, also known as InDeeDee and – in her community – known as Twitch Mom. She is a Brit living in Australia doing what she can to make the gaming community a little bit brighter. She’s also very adamant that her name is not in relation to Pokémon, and that she came before her cartoon counterpart (so take that).
Ready to get started? Let’s rock ‘n roll, buckaroos!
Stoked to have you chatting with us today, Dee! Before we get rolling here, tell us a little bit about ... Read more

This week at Bungie, we talk about Rhulk finding his chill and a new way to enjoy raids and dungeons.
It really is almost mid-April already, huh? As the weeks continue to feel like they fly by in a rush for summer, we’re excited to show off even more changes coming to Destiny 2 while we continue working on what the future means for our favorite space-faring heroes. In the next few weeks, we’ll be diving through some weapon sandbox changes and other topics of interest. One of the changes that we are ready to talk about now, however, is a new Rotator system for some of the more challeng... Read more

You may be looking at this Community Focus and thinking to yourself, “Self, that’s a lot of words. Ain’t nobody got time to read all that.” Let me just say: 1) stop it 2) trust me, it’s worth it. Omni Props, as an entity, has made a name for itself in the Destiny community for impressive builds, creative takes on the game, and it doesn’t hurt that the creator behind the masks is a precious cinnamon bun that must be protected at all costs. So, it’s a cosplayer lover’s delight for us to introduce you to Javier Martinez, the creative soul behind some wildly impressive contributions to our lovely microcosm of incredible people.
Without further ado, let’s dive right in and talk about the creative cycle of translating digital love into real-life works of art while also paying special tributes to those that helped him find his style along the way:
First off! How the heck are ya?! Go ahead and introduce yourself to the Destiny community. Who are you, what do you... Read more

This week at Bungie, we are saying thank you to our generous community for all their incredible contributions to this year’s Game2Give charity initiative with the Bungie Foundation. We’re also offering some clarity into our Terms of Service regarding in-game behaviors and talking about a recent wave of strikes against the Destiny 2 content creator community (and in an odd twist of events, even our own official channels).

Making Drifter proud, one ding-ding-ding at a time.
One thing that I personally love about the Destiny-verse is that it isn’t just one thing. There is PvP, PvE, and PvPvE for Guardians to enjoy (or in my case, die horribly in – Iron Banana, I just can’t quit you), but one particular player has carved a name out for herself for being the Queen of Gambit, and it’s pretty easy to see why. When I say she is a legend, I mean it, so let’s dive right into the shenanigans with our latest Community Focus feature: Silver, the Gambit Queen.
First up, what's up!? You've got a pretty stellar reputation in the community by living up to the Queen of Gambit title. Tell us a little bit about yourself and the start of your gaming journey?
Hey! My name is Silver and I have actually been gaming since Destiny 1. I was not one of the lucky folks that have had the privilege of gaming their whole life, so I came into gaming primarily through Destin...

This week at Bungie, we are celebrating World First, talking raid stats, and showing off a new weapon rotation for Trials and Iron Banner.
Guardians have been diving into The Witch Queen and Season of the Risen and discovering a wealth of new story content and lore to dig into that makes us cry. Despite some server issues and a few hiccups in-game, the latest step of the ever-evolving story of Destiny has been a wild one, but we are far from done when it comes to making it even better. From the Seasonal quest continuing towards its own conclusion to a new hotfix going live today full of bug fixes, there are a lot of reasons to dive in. Because of that, we wanted to talk about some of the different weapons coming to Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner, returning maps making their way downtown (er, to the Crucible), and talk about what issues have been addressed (link to patch notes) and what’s still on the docket.
But first? Art.

Making the Destiny community a little bit brighter, one epic cosplay at a time.

In the last cosplay Community Focus, we playfully had a few jabs at non-Titan classes, so it was only fair that the next amazingly talented human being to be featured would showcase the beauty that are Hunters (Hippy says grudgingly).
Lilian, or Lily Bean Cosplay, is a passionate fan of all things Destiny 2 and Star Wars, and that passion can easily be seen through her craft. OK, OK, you’ve got me – this Titan-main must admit, she makes Hunters look ... Read more
