We've already revealed Storm Brand, the first of a new skill type coming alongside Path of Exile: Betrayal. Today we'll look at the other new Brand skill, Armageddon Brand. We'll also talk about some other new Brand synergies that are being added.

Armageddon Brand binds to a nearby enemy when placed, and summons flaming meteors above them that come crashing down, damaging enemies in an area. It naturally applies powerful Ignite effects. As with other brands, it returns to an inactive state when the Branded enemy dies, and will reattach if another enemy enters its range.

Armageddon Brand has a longer activation time than Storm Brand, which can be modified by new Brand passives as well as Cast Time modifiers, but its placement time is much shorter, making it quick to deploy multiple Armageddon Brands.

Throughout Path of Exile: Betrayal, you can encounter Masters from the new roster randomly in areas you explore. Einhar, Alva and Niko's content and where they are introduced was explained in this previous post.

Once you reach endgame maps, there's a one-third chance of getting a random Master in each map, from the set of Einhar, Alva, Niko and Zana. Jun is in every area in Betrayal league, throughout the main game and endgame.

Among the many new Veiled mods coming in the Betrayal league are those that introduce the new Focus skill, a new cooldown skill that is customisable by your items.

Focus is a new instant cast skill that gives you a buff for a fixed 4 seconds when used and has a 12 second cooldown. The buff has no effect by itself, but there are a large number of veiled modifiers that grant effects while Focussed. When you have any of these modifiers, you can then bind the Focus skill on your skill bar.

You can't kill them, Einhar always gets his stupid beast.

An Update about the Xbox One Patching Issue

Due to a temporary issue in the Xbox One patching system, the last Xbox One patch for Path of Exile forced a re-download of the entire game. We requested that this be investigated by Microsoft. We were told that while the problem had been fixed and would not occur again with future patches, all users who were affected will have to re-download the game one last time to get back to normal. Unfortunately Microsoft was unable to find any workaround in their system to prevent this. We understand that this is extremely inconvenient for our players and we are very sorry that this occurred.

With the upcoming launch of Path of Exile's Betrayal expansion, the roster of Masters is changing. The old cohort of Forsaken Masters mysteriously vanished. In their absence, Einhar, Alva, and Niko have joined Jun and Zana as a new group of Masters to aid you. Today's post covers how their league content has been integrated into the core game.

Einhar, BeastMaster

Einhar has returned, as a Master, and you will meet him from Act Two onwards. His missions involve hunting the area for one red beast and some yellow beasts. When you do enough damage to a beast, Einhar will appear to assist you with the hunt. He handles the process of capturing beasts himself, so you don't need to worry about managing nets. He will remain in the area until the last yellow or red beast is captured.

We're releasing a number of new skills alongside the Betrayal League. Two of these are new projectile Steel skills that use the new Impale effect.

Shattering Steel

This skill lets you swing your Sword or Axe, releasing a spray of three projectiles in an arc in front of you. These projectiles deal more damage the further they travel until they reach their maximum range. When they stop on an enemy or reach maximum range, the projectiles burst, dealing their damage in an outward cone.



The projectiles are unleashed in rapid succession, making them capable of hitting close enemies with multiple projectiles. Like Spectral Throw, the skill doesn't perform any melee attack and therefore can't be supported by Multistrike or melee-specific supports, but the skill works very well with Projectile modify...
