Hi, thank you for the report. The tooltip for the Festival of Worlds buff says, "Festival of Worlds modifier added for 60 months" and 60 months is 5 years.

Thanks for the report, but as mentioned above the food is for the Tree of Life. The cost in the colony ship is for the sapling, and the trees themselves have a food upkeep.
