Ive played this game on and off for years and I remember crafting black shotgun slugs way back before the crafting system was revamped.
Shotgun shells all seem the same now; red buckshot. Were the slugs removed at some point?

External link →It sounds like you had played in early/mid-2014. Or maybe, you played before the game came to Steam.
In late 2014, the game was completely rebuilt from the bottom up. Not all of the content from the iteration you played is in the game that exists nowadays.
Slugs were "removed" (effectively) 8 years ago.
